🌟 Employee Spotlight: Ryan Bracken, LVN – Infection Preventionist 🌟
At Asbury Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, we are proud to recognize Ryan Bracken, LVN, whose life has been defined by service, leadership, and compassion.
Born in San Jose and raised in Hanford, California, Ryan developed a passion for leadership early through NJROTC, where he learned discipline, teamwork, and accountability values that continue to guide him today. He later enlisted in the United States Navy, where he distinguished himself by earning recognition as the highest-ranking enlisted recruit during basic training. His time in the military strengthened his commitment to service and excellence, shaping the foundation for his future career.
After completing his military service, Ryan transitioned into the culinary world, building a successful career as an executive chef. His talent and dedication led him to cook for celebrities, four U.S. Presidents, and international leaders, an experience that required precision, creativity, and the ability to perform under pressure. Despite his success, Ryan felt a deeper calling to serve others in a more personal and impactful way.
That turning point came in 2011 when he returned to California to care for his critically ill mother and support his younger siblings. During this challenging time, his mother encouraged him to pursue nursing, recognizing his natural compassion and desire to help others. Inspired by her belief in him, Ryan enrolled in nursing school just two weeks later, a life-changing decision that ultimately led him to his true calling in healthcare.
Today, Ryan serves as Asbury Park’s Infection Preventionist, where he plays a vital role in safeguarding the health and well-being of residents and staff. His responsibilities include monitoring infection control practices, educating team members, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards to maintain a safe environment. Ryan approaches his work with diligence and care, understanding that his efforts directly impact the quality of life for those he serves. For him, nursing is not just a profession.. it is a mission to make a meaningful difference and help people heal so they can return home to the ones they love.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his fiancée, whom he will marry in January 2027, as well as his three children, family, and friends. He has a passion for traveling, attending concerts and comedy shows, cooking, and exploring new restaurants, continuing to embrace his culinary roots while creating lasting memories with loved ones.
Ryan says his favorite part of working at Asbury Park is the people. “Our team feels like family. We support one another and share the same commitment to providing exceptional care.” His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication to teamwork make him an invaluable member of the Asbury Park community.
