Men-only treatment isn't a preference.
It's a clinical decision. 💪

🌄At New Dawn, men's residential programs are built around how men actually experience addiction – the way stress shows up, how trauma gets buried, and what it takes to get someone to open up in a group setting.

Separate housing.
Dedicated on-site therapists.
Trauma-informed care.
Holistic therapies.
Private rooms at luxury locations.

It's built differently because the research says it should be.

Father's Day is Sunday, and this week, it's worth saying out loud that dads carry a lot. 👨‍👧‍👦

The pressure to provide, to be present, to hold it together. It all adds up. And, for a lot of fathers, substance use or untreated mental health is quietly running in the background of all of it.

✨But recovery is possible. You don't have to have hit rock bottom. You just have to be ready for something different.

🚹National Men's Health Week starts today.
Men are significantly less likely to seek mental health or addiction treatment than women. Not because they're dealing with less; but because the message they've received most of their lives is to push through it. That message costs lives. And it doesn't have to.

Healing is available; asking for it isn't a weakness. 💪

PTSD Awareness Month is also a good time to say this plainly.
Healing is real. It doesn't mean forgetting. It doesn't mean the trauma didn't happen. It means the brain learns to hold it differently, so it stops running the show.

Thousands of people in recovery are proof that trauma doesn't get the last word.

PTSD and substance use don't travel separately.
For a lot of people, one is how they cope with the other.
🌄New Dawn's dual diagnosis programs treat both – with trauma-informed modalities like EMDR, brainspotting, and ART woven into every level of care.

Not as add-ons. As the foundation.

✨If you or someone you love is carrying trauma alongside addiction, that is exactly who we are built for.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

The FDA just granted Breakthrough Therapy designation to a new PTSD treatment – a non-hallucinogenic compound that showed significant symptom reduction in clinical trials, with results appearing as early as 10 days in.

It's a reminder that PTSD research is moving fast right now.

And it's a reminder of something just as important: PTSD affects approximately 12 million U.S. adults in any given year – many of whom don't even know that's what they're experiencing.
It doesn't only come from combat. It comes from accidents, loss, assault, childhood trauma, medical emergencies, and countless other experiences that overwhelm the nervous system's ability to process what happened.

✨Awareness is the first step.
⚕️Treatment is the next one.

The Sacramento Pride Festival will return to Capitol Mall next weekend on June 13 and 14, 2026, with the Pride March kicking off Sunday, June 14 at 11 a.m. from Southside Park.

🎤Three stages
🏳️‍🌈Hundreds of vendors
👥And tens of thousands of people showing up for the LGBTQIA+ community

For the LGBTQ+ community, feeling seen isn't a small thing – it is where real healing starts.
And celebrating is important – but so is what happens after the celebration ends.
If someone in your life identifies as LGBTQIA+ and is navigating something hard right now, here are a few ways that you can be there for them:

1️⃣ Ask what they need instead of making assumptions
2️⃣ Believe them when they name their experience
3️⃣ Don't minimize what they are dealing with
4️⃣ Help them find affirming care whenever they are ready

Support that's steady, non-judgmental, and shows up in the small moments is the kind that sticks. 🌄
