Celebrating the month that was! July was a very active time for SSVMS and our community nonprofit Bridging Medicine. Here's just some of the things we were able to accomplish!
From July 7-10, the Future of Medicine program hosted 2026's second cohort, with activities such as learning to suture using bananas, CPR certification, a tour of the Museum of Medical History, and much much more.
On July 11, the Museum of Medical History was open to visitors for Second Saturday.
On July 13, the SSVMS Board of Directors met to discuss key issues facing medicine in the Sacramento area.
On July 15, the Sacramento County Opioid Coalition and the Methamphetamine Coalition had their first-ever combined meeting.
On July 16, the American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE) bestowed the Profile of Excellence Award on SSVMS for the Mentorship in Medicine program.
And on July 27, Sutter Health invited Future of Medicine students to participate in a simulation lab, teaching the students how to deliver a baby and respond to a code in the emergency department.
July was an impactful month and we look forward to what August has in store.
