Beth Elaine “Shortie” McLaughlin of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Meadows on McCarty in Saginaw. She was 82 years old. Beth Elaine Corwin was born on September 28, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Arthur Ray and Vivian Cristella (Hilts) Corwin. Beth was a proud 1961 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, she attended Central Michigan University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 1958, Beth met the love of her life, Ted Irwin McLaughlin, through the Boy Scouts of America. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 19, 1965, celebrating 61 years of marriage together; he survives her. Beth began her teaching career in St. Louis, Michigan, for two years before taking on the role of her lifetime, to be a loving and dedicated mother to her two daughters. Upon her return to teaching, she spent the next 19 years with the Genesee County Intermediate School District educating autistic children. While working with the school district, she attended and graduated from Oakland University with a Master of Science in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism Spectrum Disorder. When she wasn’t spending time with her treasured and cherished family, Beth enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. This was her little piece of heaven, to design and create clothes, costumes, suits, sports jacket, dresses, and coats for everyone she loved. Beth also enjoyed tending to her flower garden. She will forever be remembered as a woman who lived a life of service to other people. Her family will fondly remember her as a spirited lady in the kitchen making lunch or taking a cat nap in her rocking chair. Beth was selfless, kind, priceless, profound, and lived a life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Ted I. McLaughlin of Saginaw; two daughters: Tonya Swidorski of Saginaw; Leah (Kurt) Hill of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Jacob Gray, Brandon Swidorski, Elizabeth (Wyatt) Baker, Gretchen McLaughlin, and Scooter Hill; two great-grandchildren: Caiden and Delilah Baker; a sister, Ardis (Walt) Roseberry of CA; two sisters-in-law, Karen Corwin of Farwell and Janice Wilber of Oscoda; and a brother-in-law, Lynn (Phyllis) McLaughlin of Saline. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends to0 numerous to mention but held closely to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Vivian Corwin; a brother, Doug Corwin; and a brother-in-law, George Wilber.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Christina Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery & Mausoleum. Ronald Dale Smith Sr

Ronald Dale Smith Sr., born January 22, 1942, in Mohall, North Dakota, passed away surrounded by those who loved him. The son of Vernon and Doris (Morrison) Smith, Ronald grew up with a strong sense of purpose, resilience, and devotion to family—qualities that shaped every chapter of his life.

Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965, beginning a lifelong commitment to service. After completing his military duty, he continued protecting his nation through a distinguished career as an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, while also serving in the Saginaw office as a member if the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team, a role he carried with deep pride and unwavering integrity.

After raising his family, Ronald met Denise Welles, the love of his life and his steadfast partner. Their bond grew into a marriage filled with affection, humor, and mutual respect, and they joyfully wed in July of 2000. Ronald was a kind and loving husband, devoted to Denise.

A man of many talents and passions, Ronald embraced life with determination and curiosity. He was an avid pilot, a dedicated hunter and fisherman, and a meticulous craftsman who enjoyed reloading ammunition. He found peace and satisfaction in gardening, nurturing the earth with the same care he gave to the people around him. His family knew him as headstrong and determined, traits that fueled his accomplishments and shaped his character.

Among his greatest joys was being a grandfather, and he took immense pride in his grandchildren’s achievements. His eyes lit up whenever he spoke of them, and he celebrated their successes as wholeheartedly as his own.

Ronald was also a proud and active member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 439, the Moose Lodge, and Saginaw Field and Stream, where he found camaraderie, purpose, and lifelong friendships.

He will be remembered for his steadfast loyalty, his love of country, his many skills and passions, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life. Ronald’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, loved him, and were shaped by his presence.

Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Denise; his children, Lorraine “Lori” Smith Raymond and Ronald Dale Smith Jr.; his brother, Rick (Donna) Smith; his cherished grandchildren, Wesley Smith, Samantha Smith, and Jack Raymond; his brother-in-law Theodore “Teddy” (Andrea) Chirstian and their son, Alex Christian; his sister-in-law, Cindy Clark; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members who will hold his memory dear.

He is preceded in passing by his parents; his brothers, Darrel Smith and Doug Smith; his son, Brian Joseph Smith; brothers-in-laws, Mark Welles and Jeff Christian; and sister-in-law, Cindy’s, husband Pat Clark.

In keeping with Ronald’s wishes cremation has taken place. There are no services planned at this time.

Donald Ruth was born in Pinnebog, Michigan on February 1, 1938, to Margaret May (Heron) and Francis Xavier Ruth. He was one of eleven children and is survived by siblings Helen (Bill d.) Carpenter, Mary (Greg) Bivins, and Leo (Dee) Ruth. Predeceased siblings include Francis Ruth, Matthew Ruth, Illene Johnson, Bernard Ruth, Earl Ruth, Carl Ruth, and Joann Wisenbaugh.

He married Theresa Margaret Strelecki on May 25, 1963 and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage and share seven children: Mark Ruth, Maggie (Trell) Elliott, Christopher Ruth (d. 2018), Stephanie Fortner, Robert (Nicole) Ruth, Victoria (Michael) Mitchell, and Donald (Jennifer) Ruth, and eight grandchildren: Charlie, Theresa, Klea, Caleb, Jack, Xavier, Wes, and Dash.

Don spent four years in the US Navy and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in 1969. He worked the majority of his career at General Motors in Saginaw at the Malleable Iron Plant. He helped with the shutdown of the plant as he was retiring in 2007.

As his children started leaving home, Don became an enrolled agent to prepare tax returns, taking classes and keeping current on tax law. After working at this for a while, he switched to donating his time to provide tax services to friends, family, and many others in the community including veterans.

Don enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and helping others with maintenance and repair projects. He was known for his amazing dill pickles, generosity, and love of a good meal and wine. Don loved cheering on his children and coaching them throughout the years.

Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2026, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary Catholic Church, 151 St. Mary Dr., Hemlock MI 48626. Rev. Fr. Sunil Kumar Pallela will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery where Military Honors will be held under the auspices of the United States Navy. Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609, with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm. Friends may also visit at the church Friday morning from 10:00 am until the time of mass.

Violet was known not only for her exceptional homemaking skills but also for her delightful personality, filled with humor and cheer. Violet was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. She was a gifted joke teller who brought laughter to many, a devoted fan of University of Michigan football, and a familiar and beloved presence at Tony's Restaurant on State Street, where she knew everyone by name. Her community involvement was equally noteworthy; she was a proud member of both Job's Daughters and the Eastern Star, organizations that reflected her commitment to fellowship and service.

Her life was marked by deep family devotion. Violet is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jan (Rick) Bonnau and Sandy (Perry) Campau, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren, Jacob (Allie) Campau and Joy (Mike) Bonnau-Poling; and great-grandchildren, Autum Poling and Cooper Campau, and Luke Campau who brought immense joy to her later years. two brother's Jerry Hartwig and Bobby Hartwig, her sister Patty Andrews, and her sister’s-in-law Lorraine Hartwig, and Pat Wilson. Her life was enriched by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will fondly remember her warmth and wit.

Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Harden Jr., and her daughter, Jill Anne Harden. She also mourned the loss of seven siblings: Marge (Charles) York, Tom (Ronnie) Hartwig, Bonnie Henderson, Arthur (Kay) Hartwig, Eleanor (Bob) Mead, Jim Hartwig, and Dick Hartwig, sister-in-law Nan Baxter, brother-in-law Al Wilson. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the age of 67 years.

The son of the late Spencer Sr. and Shirley (Hayes) Green was born on June 29, 1958, in Saginaw. McCoy graduated from Buena Vista High School the class of 1977. He then joined the U.S. Army in June of 1977, serving abroad in Germany for three years until his discharge in 1980. McCoy married Laura Miner on October 20, 2000; she survives him. A skilled maintenance man, he worked for Saginaw County and Community Village for several years until his retirement. McCoy and Laura were members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Saginaw. He was an avid fisherman- no matter the season, he had his fishing pole ready to go with his best fishing buddy, Spence. McCoy was also a sports enthusiast, watching multiple sports at the same time. McCoy also cherished his friends and family especially time spent camping and traveling. Memorable trips included a cross-country adventures to Colorado and Washington D.C.

Surviving besides his wife, Laura, are his daughters: Kaylee Green, Tameshia Jackson, son McCoy (Arnesha) Green Jr., his granddaughter: Sydney Lehner, his siblings: F***y Marie (Columbo) Clayton, Robert (Tammy) Green, Darliane (Spencer) Blackmon, Donna (Demaret) Bailey, Kenneth Lenoir, his siblings-in-law: Ronald (Kristie) Miner, William (Megan) Miner, Shawn Green, his parents-in-law Susan Dobson and Kenneth (Jane) Miner, his aunt Abbie Lee Smith and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including his faithful dog, Tucker “Green”. McCoy was predeceased by siblings: James Hester, Spencer Green Jr., Dianne Green, Patricia (Emmitt) Jones, his step father-in-law Terry Dobson and many aunts, uncles, relatives and loved ones.

The son of the late Orville and Dorothy (Giessel) Kretschmer was born on August 12, 1950, in Saginaw, MI. Tom graduated from Michigan State University and worked as an architect and contractor. An avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed camping, hiking, and canoeing.

Surviving are his sister Julie Rentrop and her husband Teddy, a niece and a nephew, as well as several other relatives.

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper, with his family at his side. Age 81 years,

The son of the late Orville and Mildred (Wesley) C**n, David was born on November 29, 1944, in Chesaning, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Davana Jean Marshall, on August 14, 1965 They shared many wonderful years together. She survives him. David worked for many years as an operating engineer in construction, building a career across many aspects of the trade. He had a deep appreciation for heavy equipment, a passion that extended to maintaining his beloved pulling tractor, Blu‑By‑U, and remained a steady part of his life. He believed strongly in service and community. David served faithfully on the council at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active in organizations that reflected his interests and values, including the MidMichigan Old Gas Tractor Association (MMOGTA), the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Alma Arbor Gleaners. He was also a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 324, where he formed lasting friendships and earned a reputation for reliability and grit. David loved the outdoors, whether working or playing, though more often playing, especially hunting, fishing, and watching birds. He was a hard worker, strong‑willed and determined in his own way, and someone who took pride in doing things right. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the memories he created and the people he loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Davana; his sons, David "Scott" C**n and Bradley (Marla) C**n; his sister, Linda Kruger; brothers, Leonard C**n and Alvin C**n; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Ken C**n, and his brother and sister-in-law Dennis and Janice C**n; and his daughter-in-law, Deanna C**n.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Great Lakes PACE and Primary Nursing Care of Saginaw, for their kind and compassionate care of David.

In accordance with David's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of David’s Life is planned for Monday, June 15, 2026, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1123 W Walnut St, St Charles, MI 48655. The family will receive guests on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the church, and again on Monday from 11:00am until the time of the service. Jeannie Firmingham passed away peacefully at Toni & Trish House, on June 9, 2026. Born on June 26, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lloyd George Smewing and Mildred Grace (Duby) Smewing.

Jeannie dedicated much of her life to being a loving and devoted caregiver, a role through which she touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. Her selfless spirit and warm heart defined her career and leave a lasting legacy of care and devotion.

Beyond her professional life, Jeannie embraced the pleasures of everyday life with enthusiasm and joy. She found delight in camping, bowling, riding her bike, and shopping. Among her happiest memories were the cherished moments spent at Applebee’s with family and friends, relishing her favorite margaritas and the company around her.

Jeannie is survived by her two daughters, Kelly (Rod) Weber and Margo (Cory) Fisher. She was also a devoted grandmother to two grandchildren: Jacob (Amber) Shelden, and Kerri (Alexis) Caballero, and a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Aria, Keira, Lydia, Abram, and Jesse, who brought her immense joy and pride.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, whose memories remain in the hearts of those who knew Jeannie.

“Rest in peace, Mom. We love you”!

A private family gathering will be held with entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Joann Bosch, who passed away at home on June 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She has now been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband.

Karen was born in Saginaw, Michigan on January 25, 1947, the daughter of the late Teddie Hawkins and Carol (Remer) Hawkins.

Karen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She found great joy in her creative hobbies, specifically sewing and quilting, which were true passions throughout her life. She also cherished time spent outdoors, finding peace in fishing and taking long, scenic drives with her husband.

Karen’s professional journey was marked by her time as an AT&T switchboard operator, and she eventually retired from AT&T after serving in six special divisions. Beyond her career, she was a business owner, having operated Bosch Video.

Service and dedication were hallmarks of Karen’s life. She served in the Navy Reserves and remained an active contributor to her community. Her passion for nurturing the next generation was evident through her time as a Brownie leader and field director at the Mitten Bay Girl Scout council. Additionally, she was a dedicated advocate for education, serving on the parent council for special needs and special education in Michigan.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and family. She will be remembered fondly for her kindness, her creativity, and the impact she made.

Karen is survived by her children and their spouses, James and Christy Bosch, Carol and Curt Fritz, and Tina and Robert Kelley; grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Brittany Bosch, Megan Bosch and Jeston Evans, Andrew Bosch, Jessica Reger, Johnna and Dalton Lefever, and Jason Scherrer, and Valery and Matthew Parker; great-granchildren, Brooklynn, Justin Jr., Cyra, Wyatt and Tyler, Lillyonna, and Ava; brother, Bruce Hawkins.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Michael Pasko, 86, of Saginaw, Michigan, on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 10, 1939, to John Paul and Theresa (Summers) Pasko, John grew up with a strong work ethic, a curious mind, and a natural talent for fixing just about anything.

In 1958, John met the love of his life, and the two were married in April 1959. Together they built a life grounded in devotion, partnership, and deep family bonds. John was a proud husband and a wonderful father, always ready with a steady hand, a thoughtful solution, or a bit of humor to lighten the day.

A true jack‑of‑all‑trades, John found joy in building and maintaining cars and houses, crafting with wood, painting, and taking on any project that challenged him. In his younger years, he loved hunting and fishing, and he cherished the time spent at the cottage he built in Tawas — a place that became a family treasure. Snowmobiling and hands‑on work kept him energized, and he approached every task with determination and pride.

To those who knew him, John was the embodiment of generosity and kindness. His family describes him as determined, always ready for a challenge, loving, and endlessly giving. He was a great dad, a devoted husband, and a man whose quiet strength and gentle heart left a lasting mark on everyone around him.

John’s legacy lives on in the family he loved, the places he built, and the countless moments of care and craftsmanship he shared throughout his life.

He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 67 years, Joan; as well as his children, Joni (David) Moll, and Jack (Kevin Smith) Pasko; his brother, Joe (Renee) Pasko; his sister, Theresa (Charlie) Filipiak; his grandchildren, DJ (Julie) Moll, Drew Moll, Crissy (David) Ferrill, and Allison (Kirk) Grames; his great-grandchildren, Roark, Bellamy, Roland, Lincoln, Kelley, Zac, Logan, Ava, Zoey, and London; as well as many other extended family who's hearts John touched.

John was preceded in passing by his parents.
