Just another day promoting men’s mental health. 💪

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined Dr. Gray at the Men’s Health 1st event this weekend. Conversations like these matter because men—and especially men of color—often face unique challenges when it comes to mental health, healing, and asking for help.

Too often, men are taught to suffer through silent storms. To keep it to themselves. To be strong. To handle it. To not burden anyone else with their problems. To "be a man" and push through instead of admitting when something hurts.

But strength isn't pretending you're okay when you're not.

Sometimes, the greatest feat of strength is having the courage to say, "I need help."

Acknowledge your storms. Call them by name. Talk about what you're carrying, and give yourself the grace and space to heal.

You don't have to weather every storm alone.

Every story matters. Every identity matters. Every mind matters.

Mental health is essential for everyone, yet many individuals from marginalized communities continue to face barriers to care, stigma, discrimination, and a lack of culturally responsive support.

With this observance we honor the strength, resilience, and lived experiences of people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, women, immigrants, people with disabilities, and all communities whose mental health journeys deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.

Healing looks different for everyone, and every person deserves access to compassionate, affirming, and equitable mental health care.

You are valued. You belong. Your mental health matters.

Today we honor Juneteenth—a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration.

As we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, we recognize the resilience, contributions, and enduring legacy of Black Americans. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom, equality, and justice are values worth protecting and advancing every day.

We celebrate progress, learn from history, and continue working toward a future where opportunity and dignity are accessible to all.

Gun violence doesn't end when the sirens fade.

Gun violence impacts our community every day—shattering families, traumatizing individuals, and affecting entire neighborhoods.

At GLC, we believe healing is possible. Our mission is to break cycles of violence and trauma by connecting people with immediate crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and the support they need to move forward.

Together, we can build a safer, healthier Saginaw County—one person, one family, and one community at a time.
