This morning Ceremony at the Chester Cemetery! Thank you all for making this possible.

This morning I had the opportunity to travel from Chester Cemetery, to Wilford Cemetery, Parker Cemetery, and Riverview Cemetery, ending at Rotary Park by the City Offices with the American Legion. At each stop, Taps was beautifully played by Matt Bennett and his sons as they alternated throughout the morning.
It was the perfect way to begin this Day of Remembrance — honoring those who gave their lives serving this great nation, those who faithfully served and have since passed on, and our own loved ones who have gone before us.

As the morning came to an end, I found myself emotional when a few members of the American Legion thanked me for being present at every stop. Their gratitude meant more than they probably realized. I’m truly grateful I went.

I have a deep love and respect for the men and women who have served and sacrificed for this country. Today was a powerful reminder that remembrance matters.
