Therapists — these aren't compliance problems.
They aren't motivation problems.
They're Transfer Therapy Gap signals. The work is happening. The transfer isn't.

If you're seeing any of these in your caseload, the free Transfer Therapy Gap guide breaks down what's happening structurally — and what to do about it.

Most therapists know the gap exists. Almost none have a clinical solution.

Between-session support has been treated as a compliance problem for decades.

Give the client a worksheet. Remind them to use their coping skills. Hope it transfers.

It doesn't — not reliably. And that's not a client failure. That's a structural gap in how therapy is designed.

Real between-session support means regulated access: the right tool, at the moment of activation, when the window for integration is actually open.

That's the Transfer Therapy Gap. And closing it isn't about more homework.

The Transfer Therapy Gap guide breaks down exactly what this looks like in clinical practice.

We have details to share-just ask.

The work lands in session. Then life happens. That gap has a name — and it's not resistance.

What your clients experience between appointments isn't failure. It's what happens when a process built around 50-minute windows tries to hold progress that needs more support than that.

It's called the Transfer Therapy Gap™️ — and it's structural, not personal.

I spent years building resources I believed in.
Charts, frameworks, guides — all of it grounded in the science.

All of it well-designed. And when a client was flooded, shut down, or barely holding on — none of it worked the way I needed it to.

That's not a clinical failure. It's a design problem. And it's so common in therapy rooms that it has a name now.

The Therapy Transfer Gap ™️.

I've shared my insights about what it is,
my understanding and a fix for it.

Therapists —
You're not losing ground with your clients because your work isn't good. You're losing ground because the gap between sessions has no clinical infrastructure.

That's what Cohera was built to close.

Founded by a trauma-specialized therapist who lived this problem firsthand — Cohera gives your clients a way to access the work between sessions, so what happens in the room actually holds in real life.

This is the Transfer Therapy Gap. And it's solvable.

Same client. Same session. Every. Single. Week.

A lot of therapists try to bridge the gap by being more available. More texts.
More check-ins. More of you.

It works until it doesn't — and then you're burned out and your clients still aren't carrying the work forward.

The problem was never availability. It was infrastructure.

The Therapist Transfer Gap Resource™️ gives clients a way to stay in the work without needing you in the middle of it.

Guilt isn't a personality flaw. It's what happens when the tools don't match the work.

Practitioners aren't burning out from the clinical work. They're burning out from what happens between sessions — clients who go around the system, communication with no container, and the slow erosion of boundaries that were never structurally supported.

That's the Transfer Therapy Gap. It's real, it's common, and it's not a reflection of your competence.

The session goes well- By Monday, it's gone.
Real progress & Real connection.
Out The Window

Therapists —
This isn't a client compliance problem. It isn't motivation. It isn't resistance.
It's the Transfer Therapy Gap — the structural space between what your clients build with you in session and what they can actually access when they're activated in real life.
Every practice has it. Most don't have a name for it yet.
That's what this account is here to change.

The free guide is in the comments. It's a good place to start.

Therapists —
You carry the weight of clients' progress between sessions.
The follow-through questions.
The skill repetition reminders. The "did they use what we worked on this week?" loops running in the background while you're trying to stay present in the room.

That cognitive load doesn't have to live entirely with you.

That's what between-session support is supposed to solve. When the clinical infrastructure actually holds — you can focus on the work that requires you.

The Transfer Therapy Gap is real. Cohera was built to close it.

Therapists — the progress your clients make in session is real.
But there's a reason it doesn't always hold between appointments — and it's not resistance, and it's not failure.

It's a structural gap in how therapy works. There's a name for it: the Transfer Therapy Gap.
