Sherry Ann Curlee, 63, of Hastings, passed away at her home on August 24, 2026.

Sherry was born and raised in Gouverneur, New York. She dedicated her entire working life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She found great fulfillment in caring for the elderly and began her career at Grace Barker Nursing Home in Massachusetts. She later continued her calling in St. Augustine, Florida, working at St. Johns Health Care Center and The Ponce.

Sherry had a generous heart and cherished her family deeply. Although she did not have children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own and took many of them under her wing. She treasured the time she spent with her family and leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished for years to come.

An avid animal lover, Sherry shared her home with her four beloved Chihuahuas, who brought her much happiness and companionship.

Sherry was tough, independent, and a true free spirit. She lived life on her own terms and faced challenges with strength and determination. Her favorite saying, “Mind over matter,” was a reflection of the strength that carried her throughout her life.

Sherry is survived by her spouse, Bernie Curlee; her sisters, Bonnie Kirby and Monalisa Kirby; her brothers, Daryll Kirby and Richard McIntosh, many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

Donald was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Louis and Maureen Dinelli. In 1975, he moved from Richmond, Virginia, to St. Augustine, where he made his home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Dinelli, and his beloved grandchildren, Chloe Elizabeth and Lila Grace Tinker. Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Owen.

Patricia “Pat” Pendley, 90, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, in St. Augustine, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 1, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Patricia lived a remarkable life filled with love, family, faith, adventure, and beautiful memories. She was a faithful Catholic whose faith remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

Pat was the beloved wife of Howard Foster “Papa” Pendley. Together, Pat and Foster shared a beautiful life and a marriage that was truly a perfect match. They shared more than 60 years of marriage, creating a loving family and a lifetime of memories together.

Their life together took them to many places. Among the places they called home was California, where they adopted all three of their children, Mark, Lynn, and Julie. They also spent two years living in South Africa while their children were young, creating experiences and memories that would remain part of their family story forever. Eventually, they returned to the United States and settled in Georgia, where they were surrounded by their daughters and their growing families.

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Winifred Mary "Winnie" Perky, at the age of 97 on August 25, 2026 at Riverside Cottages in St. Augustine. Born on February 2, 1929, in Manhatten. Winifred's life journey was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that inspired all who knew her.

Winifred spent her early years in Manhattan before moving to Houston, Texas, as a young girl. Following the passing of her father, she returned to New York, and attended St Jean’s Academy. She briefly went on continuing her education at Hunter Collage eventually meeting her first husband, John Larsen. They settled in Rockville Centre, Long Island, where she planted roots and built a life full of cherished memories. She was employed by the Rockville Centre Public Library for more than 30 years.

After John's death in 1983, fate intervened once more, bringing her together with Gregory Perky, a devoted teacher and talented musician with whom Winifred shared many interests with including a love for her Maine C**n cats.

Winifred married Gregory in 1986 and relocated to St. Augustine, Florida. There, she thrived, embracing the vibrant community with grace and warmth. Winifred was a lifelong learner. She loved poetry and was well versed in History. Mary Yvonne Rose, 91, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at Community Hospice Center for Caring at Baptist Medical Center South.

Mary was born in San Francisco, California, to Frank J. and Dolly (Evelyn Laforge) Basso. As a child, she moved with her family to Oakland, Dallas, and St. Louis, Missouri, where she graduated from Nerinx Hall and St. Louis University. It was in St. Louis that she met Joe Rose, whom she married in 1957. Together, they shared 47 years of marriage and raised their family in Georgetown, Ohio.

Mary devoted nearly 40 years of her life to education as a school teacher with Georgetown Exempted Village Schools. She was a dedicated educator who cared deeply about her students and the community she served. Upon retirement, Mary and Joe moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

A devout Catholic, Mary was a longtime member of St. George Catholic Church in Georgetown, Ohio, and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach. Her faith was at the center of her life. She was a daily Mass attendee, sang in the church choir, participated in nocturnal adoration, and treasured her weekly ladies’ rosary group.

Donna Maria James, 65, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on August 24, 2026.

Donna was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Marmora, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Ocean City High School. Donna began her career as a professional chef before following her passion for flowers and creativity. She became a talented florist and proudly owned and operated April Showers Gifts and Flowers, where she shared her love of floral design with her community.

In 2018, Donna moved to St. Augustine, Florida. Her greatest passion was all things floral, and she especially enjoyed creating beautiful flower arrangements. Her creativity, warmth, and love of flowers brought beauty and joy to those around her.

Donna is survived by her son, Michael James; her mother, Theresa Dunn; and her brother, Joseph Montoro, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John James, and her father, Joseph Montoro, Sr.

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, Christopher, on August 15, 2026, at the age of 14.


Christopher was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him. Full of personality, laughter, and love, he had a gift for bringing joy to those around him. His goofy sense of humor, kind heart, and fun-loving spirit made him someone people naturally gravitated toward. Whether he was making family members laugh or creating memories with friends, Christopher lived life with enthusiasm and authenticity.


Above all else, Christopher cherished his family. He was a devoted and proud big brother to his younger siblings, Zaavan and Jackson. Being their older brother was one of the roles he treasured most, and the bond they shared was filled with love, laughter, and admiration. His brothers looked up to him, and he embraced that responsibility with a caring and protective heart.


Christopher enjoyed spending time outdoors, riding his bike, and exploring the world around him. He had a passion for gaming and could spend hours doing what he loved most alongside friends. He valued friendships deeply and created countless memories with those fortunate enough to know him.

Eugene "Gene" M. Schlossberg, 96, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, in Ormond Beach. Gene was born in Atlanta, Georgia and at a young age his family moved to Florida eventually settling in Daytona Beach. Gene attended Riverside Military Academy and Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity and the ROTC. He joined the United States Army after graduation and proudly served his country during the Korean War. After the war he returned to Daytona Beach area and spent many years working with his parents in the Pat Parker retail stores throughout Florida.

Gene moved to St. Augustine in the 1980’s where he was very active in the fitness industry. He was part owner of the two World Gyms in St. Augustine and a competitive bodybuilder hosting and competing in many competitions. He loved Georgia Tech football, golf and the beach. Gene had a unique sense of humor in addition to being a kind man who was always willing to help others.

Gene is survived by his life partner, Janice Kirschwing of St. Augustine, and his four children, Stephanie Hart of Crescent City; Suzanne Tamberrino (Nick) of Orlando; Steven Schlossberg (Kim) of Daytona Beach; and Scott Schlossberg (Shelley) of Fountain Hills, Arizona. He was also a proud grandfather of eight grandchildren and a great granddaughter.

Passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026. Thomas was born on June 17, 1949, in Rochester, New York’s 19th Ward, to Woodrow J. Wilson and Thelma M. (Manigold) Wilson.

He was predeceased by his brother, Gene S. Wilson of Rochester, New York. He leaves behind his daughter, Tracey Geldof; son-in-law, Christopher Geldof; and granddaughter, Hailey Geldof, all of St. Augustine, Florida. He is also survived by his nephew, Scott Wilson of Bloomfield, New York.

Tom attended School No. 16 and West High School in Rochester, New York. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he served in a weapons platoon. During his service, Tom was awarded the Purple Heart.

In 2005, Tom moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he worked for Bay Pines National Cemetery. He also worked at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center at Bay Pines, retiring in 2015. In 2022, Tom moved to St. Augustine, Florida, where he lived near his daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.

Ernesto Jaime Rincón, 85, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026 in St. Augustine FL. Born on August 1, 1941, in Villavicencio, Meta Colombia, he was the son of the late Juan de Dios Jaime and Rosaura Rincón de Jaime.

A dedicated professional with a passion for innovation, Ernesto earned his degree from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University and spent his career working in the field of computer science. Beyond his professional achievements, he was committed to his faith and community as a devoted member of San Sebastian Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Ernesto brought energy and warmth to every room, finding great joy in listening to music, dancing, cycling, and following soccer.

Ernesto is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marlene Jaime; his cherished daughter, Lindsay Jaime (Andy Cochran); his dear grandchild, Chiara Cochran; loving son, Ernesto Jaime Jr.; his sister, Mariela Castillo (Ramiro Castillo); as well as many extended family members and friends who will treasure his memory.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25th from 6-7 p.m. at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, 385 SR 207 St. Augustine, FL 32084. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26th at 9 a.m. at San Sebastian Catholic Church, 1112 FL 16 St. Augustine, FL 32084.
