Freezer meals to prep for postpartum

A few simple meals prepared before baby arrives can make such a difference during those early weeks at home. Here are some easy postpartum favorites to stock your freezer with at the end of pregnancy:

• Breakfast burritos
Let them cool completely, wrap in parchment paper and foil, then store in freezer bags.

• Egg bites
Cool and portion into freezer zip bags for an easy protein packed breakfast.

• One handed breakfast options
Because sometimes you are feeding baby while feeding yourself.

• Overnight oats
Prep a few mason jars for the fridge each week for a quick nourishing breakfast.

• Soups + stews
Freeze in mason jars, leaving about 2 inches of space at the top. Pull them out a few days before you need them.

• Large dinner portions
Lasagna, baked ziti, casseroles, and other comforting meals freeze beautifully.

• Easy snacks
Muffins, oat bites, and smoothie packs made with protein, coconut water, berries, leafy greens, and other nourishing ingredients.

Taking care of your future postpartum self starts with simple preparation 🤍

Knowing when to reach out to your midwife can bring peace of mind during pregnancy and early labor.

While there are common guidelines such as contraction timing, water breaking, or changes in fetal movement, your intuition matters just as much. If something feels different or concerning, it is always appropriate to call.

You are not expected to navigate this alone. Support, guidance, and reassurance are part of your care.

If you have questions or concerns at any point, we are here for you.

Breastfeeding is often discussed in terms of bonding and nourishment, but less often in terms of what it requires from the body itself.

It is a physically demanding process that draws on energy, nutrients, and time in ways that are not always visible. The body continues to produce milk while also recovering from pregnancy and birth, which can place significant ongoing demands on maternal stores.
Understanding this can help create more space for support, nourishment, and rest during the postpartum period.

The breastfeeding body is doing constant, unseen work, and it deserves care in return.

Birth can be intense, emotional, and unpredictable, and that intensity is often a normal part of the process.

For birth partners, understanding this ahead of time can make a meaningful difference. When intensity is mistaken for danger, it can lead to fear and rushed decisions that may not be necessary.

Your role is not to fix or control what is happening, but to remain steady within it. Calm presence, grounded reassurance, and simple support can help your partner stay focused and feel safe.

Labor asks a lot from the person giving birth, and your energy matters more than you may realize.
