Volunteer Spotlight!

Mary Klages believes the greatest reward of volunteering is knowing you've made a difference.

Mary didn't exactly choose her current assignment—it chose her.

"I was asked to serve there because the volunteer services manager at the time saw 'good karma' in me and thought I would be a great fit!"

As a dedicated volunteer in Outpatient Surgery, Mary's kindness and compassionate spirit help bring comfort to patients and their families every week.

After retiring from a successful nursing career, Donna Tierney chose to continue making a difference by volunteering at UF Health St. Johns. From the Emergency Room to Imaging, Donna brings compassion, experience, and a genuine passion for helping others every time she serves.

As our Auxiliary Corresponding Secretary and a dedicated volunteer, Donna believes that volunteering is an opportunity to keep learning, give back to the community, and help ensure every patient has a positive experience.
