EPIC Behavioral Healthcare ...your behavioral health specialty care provider

06/06/2026

A big thank you to Sunny TV for shining a spotlight on su***de prevention and the Talkable Communities Hope Needs Help Campaign.

Our Director of Fund Development, Teresa Andrews, recently appeared on “Sunny St. Johns in the Morning” to talk about su***de prevention and the importance of our collaborative effort through Talkable Communities in providing free su***de prevention training. We need your support to make this happen.

Talkable Communities is a partnership between EPIC Behavioral Healthcare and four other nonprofit organizations: Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare, Gateway - Steps to Recovery, Clay Behavioral Health Center, and the Child Guidance Center. Due to a loss of funding, Talkable Communities has launched the Hope Needs Help Campaign.

The Hope Needs Help Campaign aims to raise $300,000 in 300 days to continue offering free su***de prevention training in Northeast Florida. Here’s how you can get involved: visit www.talkablecommunities.org/HopeNeedsHelp.

We have a complicated relationship with bravery.

We use the word for battles, for big moments, for things that happen out in the world. We rarely use it for the quiet decision a man makes alone. To finally call someone, to finally say out loud what has been heavy for years.

But that is brave. That is exactly brave.

Choosing to get support is not a weakness dressed up as something else. It is courage - the kind that shows up for your family, your relationships, your own life in ways that silence never could.

This Men's Mental Health Month, EPIC is celebrating the men who were brave enough to begin their recovery journey. And making sure that anyone ready to take that step has somewhere to go.

No appointment needed. Walk-in, same-day access - because bravery should not have to wait.

If this resonates, share it. And if you want to make sure the next man who reaches out has a door to walk through, give at epicbh.org/donate.

Fund the door that bravery walks through.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a common disorder that can develop after a person is exposed to a traumatic event, such as sexual assault, warfare, traffic collisions, child abuse, or other threats to a person's life.

At EPIC Behavioral Healthcare, we provide resources and information to encourage open discussions about mental health and to help individuals seek services. Our program is designed to serve adults, adolescents, and children ages four and older. Call us today at (904) 829-2273.

Free Su***de Prevention Training!

It does not take much to keep going the way you always have.

It takes something else entirely to stop, look at what you are carrying, and say - I need help with this.

That is brave. That is the hardest first step there is.

June is Men's Mental Health Month. And this year, EPIC Behavioral Healthcare is asking a simple question to the men in our community: are you brave enough to begin?

Men experience anxiety and depression at similar rates to women. But they are far less likely to reach out. Not because they need it less. Because no one told them that asking for help was an act of courage.

We are telling them now.

EPIC has been here for over 50 years. No judgment. No barriers. No one turned away. But that door only stays open because of people in this community who choose to fund it.

This month, join us. Share this post. And if you are ready to take that first step - or fund it for someone else - we are here.

Be part of the Brave Enough to Begin campaign. Your gift this month keeps care accessible for every man ready to ask - epicbh.org/donate.

Every brave step forward matters.

When someone reaches out for help, shows up for themselves, and takes that first courageous leap toward healing, they're not doing it alone. Behind that moment stands skilled counselors, evidence-based care, and years of community trust.

For over 50 years, EPIC has been here for St. Johns and Flagler Counties and beyond. But we can only expand this lifesaving work with supporters like you.

Help us ensure no one faces their journey toward wellness alone. Visit Brave Enough to Begin at https://epicbh.harnessgiving.org/campaigns/21049 and fuel real recovery in our community.
