The thing I love most about working in healthcare is our ability to care for our own.
We have access to knowledge. We choose a growth mindset. We are constantly learning, evolving, and taking in new developments in medicine so we can better serve others. But beyond all of that, when one of our own is down—it’s our community that shows up.
Healthcare workers give so much of themselves every single day. We strive to be a light, a resource, and a source of comfort for complete strangers. It’s not always easy, and it often asks more of us than people realize—but we do it because we genuinely care. We love caring for every single one of you.
And yet, some of the most meaningful moments in this work come when we get to support one of our own. When we can pour that same care, knowledge, and compassion into someone within our own community—it’s different. It’s deeper. There’s pride in it. A true “one of us” mindset.
Cancer, unfortunately, is one of those things that humbles even us. It strips away the sense of control we’re used to having, despite everything we know. And as healthcare professionals, we understand the sacrifices this work requires—not just from us, but from our families as well. We show up for others because they need us.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for Lindsey.
Lindsey is one of us. She has been part of our team for four years. She has spent her career caring for others, and she has more than earned our support.
Let’s come together as a community and surround her and her family with the same care, strength, and compassion she has given so freely to others.
