Summer is the perfect time to check in with your child and ask:
Are they bored? Lonely? Overwhelmed? Or just right?
The best way to know if they’re ready for more responsibility (like a job or heavy schedule) is through open conversations.
Summer should include time to rest, pursue interests, build real-life skills, and connect face-to-face — not just replicate the stress of the school year.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some teens thrive with structure, while others need more downtime. The key is tuning in to your child’s needs and helping them grow without burning out.
If you’re noticing signs of stress or overwhelm in your tween or teen this summer, we’re here to help you navigate it.
Wishing your family a healthy, balanced summer.
