She was 42. Three kids. Marketing director. Made it through her twenties on coffee and her thirties on cortisol.
By the time she came to me she was sleeping four hours a night, gaining a pound a week despite eating 1200 calories, crying in the school pickup line, and convinced she was getting early-onset dementia because she couldn't remember her own phone number.
Her primary said her labs were normal and offered an antidepressant.
Here is what was actually happening: her cortisol was so chronically elevated that her body had stopped producing progesterone in any meaningful amount. Her thyroid was converting T4 to reverse T3 instead of T3, which is a fancy way of saying her body had hit the brake pedal on her metabolism because it thought she was running from a bear for fifteen years straight.
She was not depressed. She was not lazy. She was not making it up.
She was a woman whose nervous system had been screaming for help for a decade and whose medical system handed her a prescription pad.
Six months in: sleeping seven hours. Down 22 pounds without trying. Remembered her phone number. Took her kids to the beach and stayed in the water with them instead of watching from a chair.
This is the work. This is why I do it. This is what is possible when someone actually looks.

If a doctor ever told you “you don’t have cysts, so you don’t have PCOS,” read this.

Today is a big day for you.

As of this morning, PCOS has a new name.

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.
PMOS.

It was published in The Lancet. Led by an international team of 56 organizations. Over a decade in the making.
Here’s why it matters for you.

The old name made it sound like a cyst problem. An o***y problem. A fertility problem.

It isn’t. It never was.
It’s a whole body hormone and metabolism problem. Insulin. Cortisol. Inflammation. Androgens. Your gut. Your sleep. Your nervous system.

That’s why you’ve been exhausted. That’s why the weight won’t budge. That’s why your cycle is off, your skin is reacting, your mood is unstable, and no one has been able to tell you why.

This is exactly the work we do inside Hormone Code Reset. Not chasing symptoms. Not blaming your ovaries. Looking at the whole system, the way it should have been looked at all along.

If something in this hit a nerve, send me a message. I’d love to talk.

Something I learned the hard way that took me years to see:
The women who heal fastest are not the ones with the cleanest diets or the best supplement protocols.
They're the women who stop performing wellness and start practicing it.
The difference: performing wellness is the 5am wake-up, the green juice, the cold plunge, the tracker, the protocol, the rules. It looks like health. It feels like control. It is, almost always, another form of cortisol output dressed up in better clothes.
Practicing wellness is quieter. Eating enough. Sleeping when you're tired. Saying no to one more thing. Letting your nervous system actually exhale for the first time in a decade.
I have watched women's labs change more from learning how to rest than from any protocol I have ever written.
If you are exhausted from optimizing, that exhaustion is data. Your hormones are not asking you to try harder. They are asking you to try differently.

There is a sentence I hear almost every week.
"I just want to feel like myself again."
Not thinner. Not fixed. Not perfect.
Like myself.
That sentence is the whole reason this work exists. Because somewhere along the way, between the kids and the careers and the cortisol and the decade of being told she's fine, a woman lost the thread of who she was.
Getting your hormones right is not vanity. It is not optimization. It is not a wellness trend.
It is the slow, careful work of finding your way back to yourself.
That is what I do. That is the whole point.

Here's what I want every mom to hear today.
You did not become a stranger to yourself because you had kids.
You became a stranger to yourself because your hormones stopped working the way they should, and no one was actually looking.
Normal is not optimal. There is a massive gap between the two.
Most of the women in my practice came to me after years of being patted on the head by doctors who told them everything was fine. It wasn't fine. And once we got their hormones working again, they got themselves back.
Tired is not a personality trait. Foggy is not your new baseline. And wanting yourself back is the most maternal thing on this list.
Happy Mother's Day. I see all of you.

At some point
It stops being about trying harder
And starts being about getting clear
Clear on what your body is doing
Clear on what it needs
Clear on what’s actually going to move things forward
Because once you have that
You stop second guessing
You stop starting over
You stop feeling stuck
And you can finally move forward with a plan that actually makes sense for you

You don’t need another diet
You don’t need to start over again
You don’t need more restriction
What most women actually need
Is to understand how their body is responding right now
Because once that becomes clear
You stop jumping from thing to thing
And start moving forward with intention
And that’s when things actually begin to feel sustainable again

The physical symptoms get talked about a lot
The emotional side usually doesn’t
Feeling off
Irritable
Overwhelmed
Not like yourself
And not really knowing why
That part is just as real
Because your chemistry affects how you feel
Not just physically, but mentally
And when that’s off
It impacts everything
How you show up
How you think
How you handle stress
That’s not something to ignore
That’s something to understand
Because once that piece starts to balance
Everything else becomes easier to manage

When weight feels stuck
It’s rarely about calories alone
It’s about what your body is prioritizing
If your system is under stress
Your body shifts into protection mode
Holding onto energy
Slowing things down
Becoming more resistant
So you can be doing all the “right” things
And still feel like nothing is moving
Because your body is responding to something deeper
And once you understand what that is
You can actually work with your body instead of against it

Adding more supplements without understanding what your body actually needs
Is just guessing in a more expensive way
I see this all the time
Women taking 5, 6, 7 different things
Hoping something works
But nothing really changes
Because supplements don’t replace understanding
They support a plan
And without a clear plan
They rarely do what you want them to do
So instead of asking “what should I take next”
It’s usually more helpful to ask
“What is my body actually asking for?”
