The Sinha Clinic is located in Saint Charles, Illinois. Electrical activity from the brain is displayed in the form of brainwaves. There are five categories brainwaves, ranging from the most activity to the least activity. Delta (1-3 hz), Theta (4-7 hz), Alpha (8-12 hz), Beta (broken down into Lo-Beta (13-15 hz), Mid-Beta (16-19hz), High-Beta (20-30+hz)).

Neurofeedback Technician -
Hours: Part time hours. Flexible work week schedule, we request every other Saturday 9-2am.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

We are interested in applicants only with experience as an EEG technician, ABRET certified EEG technician, sleep study tech or applicant licensed/certified in nursing, medical assistant, behavioral health or other mental health field.

-Excellent computer skills. Must be able to troubleshoot problems as needed.
-Detail-oriented with patient care and documentation.
-Prior experience in mental and behavioral health.
-Consistent, organized, and a self-starter with excellent communication skills.
-Office is located in St. Charles, IL

We have a busy neuropsychiatry practice that uses qEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback to retrain patients brainwave patterns. It is an alternative treatment to medication; it is long lasting, painless, and non-invasive.

We work with all age groups. Applicant will need to be comfortable working with all age groups, a variety of mental health conditions and placing sensors on the earlobes and scalp.

Responsibilities include setting up patients with 10-20 electrode placement and neurofeedback protocols. Including qEEG brain mapping set up.

Duties assigned:

-Maintain neurofeedback rooms with supplies and keeping rooms clean.
-Evaluating patients during each visit regarding changes in behavior, medication changes or additional treatments being performed.
-Document each session in EMR system including weekly supervision with neuropsychiatrist.
-Maintain accurate training protocols.
-Skilled 10-20 electrode placement ensuring proper alignment.
-HIPPA confidentiality is deemed most important and will not discuss patient records unless release is signed by patient, parent, or legal guardian.
-Maintain training rooms with a clean working environment for each patient, maintain neurofeedback supply list, and replace as necessary.
-Maintain and update brain-related software, backup files consistently and knowledge of troubleshooting computer related technical problems.
-Other research assignments and duties as requested.

Added bonus for those applicants with experience as a neurofeedback tech, an EEG technician or ABRET certified EEG technician. The position is part-time (variable 15 hours to start with an option of additional hours) with a flexible schedule.

Needs to be comfortable working with all age groups. We are able to train the right candidate who lacks experience within the neurofeedback field but who is licensed as a professional counselor.

Training consists of setting up patients with 10-20 electrode placement and neurofeedback protocols, as well as, setting up for qEEG “brain mapping” patients. Schedule is flexible but are interested in those who are open to evening and weekend hours. We work with a wide variety of patients seeking collaborative mental health services by counseling and neurofeedback therapy. We need a motivated individual who is adept at maintaining accurate patient records.

Telehealth at the Sinha Clinic

We use tele-conferencing for those who have been pre-screened prior to a scheduled appointment and for those who are unable to come in to the office for appointments.

We are open with regular office hours and follow the CDC’s guidelines for sanitizing community spaces. Always try to stay safe! If you feel sick or have a fever, stay home and contact your primary doctor for further recommendations.

Cognitive health is an important part of an individual’s health and well-being. It plays an integral role in a person’s social, cultural, physiological, and environmental background. However, why does it seem that taking steps to improve one’s cognitive health get put on the back burner?

As we age, there is a higher risk of having mental health problems and consequently having higher rates of disability and mortality. The brain is very much like a computer, as we age, it gets filled with a variety of information and memories.
