CentraCare is pleased to welcome Gokhan Anil, MD, as our new Chief Clinical Officer.

Dr. Anil joins CentraCare from Mayo Clinic, bringing more than 18 years of physician leadership experience along with almost two decades of clinical practice. Most recently, he served as Chair of Clinical Practice for Mayo Clinic Health System – Minnesota, providing physician executive leadership across a 10-hospital system.

As Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Anil will serve as CentraCare’s senior physician leader, working alongside our clinical teams to advance quality and safety, strengthen consistency of care and support the health of the communities we serve.

"Mr. Hilton, beware!" quipped the newsletter of Rice Hospital in Willmar in July of 1986 when it announced a new concierge service at the hospital.

It was 40 years ago this month that this new service - made up completely of volunteers - would greet patients and family members in the lobby, guide them through the admissions process and es**rt them to rooms and treatment areas.

Concierge volunteers trained for two days and 13 people signed up in the initial group.

Pictured are Eleanor and Leland Nelson, two of the original volunteers in this helpful and hospitable crew.
