Congratulations to Elijah Rankin, our Employee of the Month for March 2026! Originally from California, Elijah has been a dedicated part of our team since August of 2024. Elijah finds profound fulfillment in his work, deeply appreciating both his fellow staff members and the residents, while always recognizing the vital importance of his role! The best advice Elijah has ever received is to, "treat every day like your last." A fun fact about Elijah that most people don't know is that he loves to dip everything in hummus! If he were ever granted a surprise three-day break, you would find him happily spending that quality time with his family. Thank you, Elijah, for your hard work, dedication, and the wonderful energy you bring to CCV!

Fun Fact Friday: Did You Know that there are multiple ways to pay for long term care?

One of the biggest misconceptions about long-term care is that Medicare pays 100% of nursing home costs long term. Medicare can help cover a short-term skilled nursing stay — up to 100 days — usually following a qualifying hospital stay and only if certain medical and therapy requirements continue to be met. Long-term care is most often paid for through private pay, long-term care insurance, or Medicaid, which is state-funded assistance for those who qualify financially. Understanding the different payor sources can help families better plan for future care needs. Since each situation is different, we would be glad to confidentially talk with you if you’d like to learn more.

Congratulations to Nicole "Coley" Johnson, our Employee of the Month for February and May 2026, as voted by our own residents! A true mountain girl through and through, Coley was born and raised in Thornton, Colorado, and has been a bright light on our team since June 2023. While she grew up dreaming of becoming a marine biologist or a veterinarian, Coley believes she has truly found her calling in the vital work she does here. Outside of work, her vibrant creativity shines as she spends her time writing a Romantasy novel. It is no surprise that the animal that best matches her personality is the wolf, representing her sharp intuition, fierce loyalty, deep family connections, and love for untamed freedom. Thank you, Coley, for your dedication, your wonderful spirit, and everything you bring to our community!

Fun Fact Friday: Did You Know that in 2025, 8 people returned home following care and services at CCV?

Many people assume senior living communities are only places people go when there are no other options left. In reality, many residents receive rehabilitation, recover after hospitalization, gain social connection, improve nutrition, or receive support that helps them maintain independence longer. Assisted living and skilled nursing at CCV can significantly improve quality of life — not just provide end-of-life care.
