Rethinking the “default” in your relationship 🤍

So many of us fall into patterns, those automatic reactions to a tone, a look, or the same argument on repeat. They once helped us feel stable… but over time, they can leave us feeling stuck, unheard, or disconnected.

The good news? Patterns aren’t permanent. They can be updated.

Here are 3 simple shifts to start:
✨ Name the cycle: make the pattern the problem, not each other
✨ Stay curious: your partner is always growing, keep learning them
✨ Soften your start: how you begin a conversation changes everything

Burnout rarely happens all at once. Most of the time, it starts with small “yellow flags” that we brush off as just being busy or needing more sleep.

Learning to recognize these signs early can make a huge difference.

Here are a few common yellow flags of burnout:
1. Loss of micro-joy
Things you normally enjoy like your workouts, hobbies, or favorite podcast start to feel like another item on your to-do list.
2. Tired but wired
You feel exhausted all day, but the moment you try to sleep your mind starts racing.
3. Low-grade irritability
Small inconveniences suddenly feel overwhelming and your patience feels much shorter than usual.
4. Decision fatigue
Even simple choices like what to eat for dinner start to feel mentally draining.

Self-care isn’t just about fixing burnout after it happens. It’s about listening to these early signals before your body reaches its breaking point.
