BALANCE
Do you ever wonder why you have days when you feel lonely, sad, bored, unfulfilled or unhappy and there is no apparent reason why? You may think to yourself, “I should be happy, what is wrong with me?”
Believe it or not, there could be a logical reason behind these emotions. Our body, mind and spirit are so interconnected that the reasons are not always obvious. If you feel bad physically, it shows up emotionally. If you are struggling emotionally it shows up physically.
It is important to be balanced physically, emotionally and spiritually. How do you do that on a daily basis? I am here to teach you how. There is a standard check list that you can use as a resource that will help remind you of what you may be missing. It is up to you to expand on that checklist and make it your own, individually. Self discovery is the key to happiness. The more you understand yourself the easier it will be to create the happiness you deserve from the inside out. Remember, balance in all things. Health is all encompassing…
• Physical- Exercise, yoga etc.
• Mental- Healthy eating, implementing boundaries, practicing patience
• Emotional- Allowing yourself to feel emotions, using support network, making positive choices
• Spiritual- Pray, gratitude journal, nature, meditate, practice humility, be accountable
• Intellectual- Learn something new, read a book, take a class
• Social – Choosing quality people in your life, interacting, engaging in hobbies, activities
• Psychological- Take prescribed meds if needed, don’t overdo it, simplify life, and delegate responsibilities.
These are just examples. Cater this list according to your own life; adjust it to your personality. If you apply this concept in your life you will notice a significant difference in how you feel physically, emotionally and spiritually. When you are not nurturing your health in any one of these areas it will show up in how you feel. The next time you are not feeling good and you can’t put your finger on the reason why, look at your balance list and you will know what to do!

22 Days to Improve Self-Esteem
We all want it and need it to feel content. Without it, how will we ever be happy in our relationships or with anything in life? I am talking about all of our relationships, including intimate, family, friends, professional, etc. Have you ever thought that maybe if you had a new car or a new house, or went on a vacation that you would then feel happy forever? What happens after you buy that new car, or that new house, or take that dream vacation that you just knew would be the answer to all of your problems? It’s disappointing isn’t it when you realize you feel exactly the same way you felt before? The cycle continues, and you keep looking for happiness in someone else or in something else only to end up feeling discouraged and frustrated.
Developing self-esteem takes time and effort. No one can give it to you. It is achieved through love. Learning to love yourself and accept who you are (including those areas that need a little work) happens when you apply unconditional love, forgiveness, tolerance, kindness, acceptance, gratitude, and truly changing the way that you think.
Who do you spend the most time with throughout your life? I hope you said, “Myself”. Don’t you think it would be nice to like this person, and even love this person the way you deserve to be liked and loved?
Here is a simple activity to help boost your self-esteem. Every morning when you get out of bed and you have that “morning look”, stand in front of the mirror and tell yourself how beautiful you are. Then list at least five character traits that are great about you. If you have a hard time coming up with an anything, think about what you have heard from family, friends and strangers over the years. Do this every day for 22 days. Add one or two items to your list daily. Let’s see how you feel in three short weeks. Try it, you have nothing to lose. This is a great place to start down a new path, one that will change your life forever!

The 4 virtues as written by Wayne Dyer bring purpose and meaning to life. Here they are:
1) reverence/respect for life and others
2) sincerity/honesty in thought and action
3) gentleness/kindness toward self, nature and others
4) supportiveness/service
"His philosophy was based on the idea that people want to be happy. To find happiness we must move toward meaning in our life, feel fulfilled and live a life of purpose."
