Congratulations to our Acute Care Rehabilitation Team, who was recently recognized as PT Solutions’ Acute Care Clinic of the Quarter, earning the top distinction among 27 acute care teams nationwide. This honor is awarded for exceptional performance across four key domains: patient outcomes, patient experience, timeliness of access to care, and quality of care.

This recognition reflects our team’s commitment to ensuring patients receive rehabilitation services quickly during their hospital stay, helping to prevent declines in physical and cognitive function while initiating the recovery journey as early as possible following illness or injury. Early rehabilitation intervention plays a critical role in improving mobility, independence, and overall recovery outcomes.

The team was also recognized for delivering outstanding patient outcomes, demonstrating measurable progress in the patients they serve during hospitalization. Their strong performance reflects a deep commitment to evidence-based practice, ensuring patients receive the most effective interventions and treatment approaches supported by current clinical research.

The team’s success is also a reflection of the leadership and dedication of their Clinic Manager and leader, Kim Mazzucco, who has been a big part of the team’s success and continues to help foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care.

This year, we're honored to celebrate Jennifer Russ, for an incredible 30 years of caring for our patients, supporting her colleagues and making a difference at Adventist Health Clear Lake.

Jennifer began her nursing career in 1996 and went on to earn her bachelor's in nursing before joining Adventist Health team, where she has built an amazing legacy of service. Over the years, she has served in a variety of roles, from direct patient care and Employee Health Nurse to House Supervisor and Nursing Educator. She has also led and supported countless projects and programs, always helping move our team forward.

Today, Jennifer continues to make an impact as our SurgiNet Coordinator, representing the surgery team and sharing her knowledge and expertise with those around her.

Her extraordinary commitment to nursing was recognized with the DAISY Award in 2019, honoring the compassionate and exceptional care she provides.

Jennifer, thank you for 30 years of dedication, leadership, knowledge and heart. We are so fortunate to have you on our team and in our community. Congratulations on this incredible milestone!

We’re excited to highlight the physicians who are making a difference in the lives of our patients through our Physician Spotlight series. Meet Dr. Ryan Moore, orthopedic surgeon, who cares for patients as part of the C**n Joint Replacement Institute.

Dr. Moore specializes in minimally invasive knee and hip replacement surgery, joint reconstruction and the treatment of osteoarthritis. He uses the latest advances in orthopedic care, including computer-assisted navigation and robotic-assisted partial knee replacement, to help patients reduce pain, restore mobility and get back to the activities they love.

For Dr. Moore, exceptional care goes beyond the operating room. His patients consistently praise his ability to listen, answer questions and make them feel genuinely cared for:

“Dr. Moore was very attentive and a wonderful listener. He performed my knee replacement surgery, and I quickly recovered and resumed normal activities.”

Dr. Moore earned both his Medical Degree and a PhD in Cell Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a Fellowship at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. His second Fellowship was completed at the C**n Joint Replacement Institute under the direction of Drs. Thomas C**n and John Diana.

A devoted family man, Dr. Moore lives in St. Helena with his wife and their three children. He enjoys many hobbies, including weight training, distance running, classical music, Alpine skiing, hiking and backpacking, cooking, and collecting wine.
