Edward Peters, O.D. Dr. Edward Peters grew up in Mason, and received his Doctorate of Optometry in 1986 from Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association and Michigan Optometric Association. Dr. Peters previously owned and operated Doctors of Optometry of Lens Crafters of Okemos, and Professional Eye Care Center of East Lansing. He has been the president of Avery Eye Care Center in St. Johns since 1988. Dr. Peters and his wife Sara live in St. Johns with their two sons, Eddie and Zach. He is a member at Dewitt Redeemer United Methodist Church, treasurer of the St Johns Youth Athletic Association, The Grid Iron Club, and board member of St. Johns City Parks and Recreation. Dr. Peters enjoys playing golf and basketball and spending time with his family. Edward Peters IV, O.D. Dr. Eddie Peters is a graduate of Ferris State University and received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry in May of 2018. He is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Michigan Optometric Association (MOA). Dr. Peters has trained using some of the most recent advancements in the field, including new imaging technology and leading edge specialty contact lenses. Completing training in Pediatric Optometry, Dr. Peters is very comfortable with patients presenting for their very first eye exam, as well as with our longstanding patients. Zachary Peters, O.D. Zach Peters grew up in St. Johns and attended St. Johns High School. Following his time as a Redwing, Zach attended Ferris State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then went on to obtain a doctorate degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. Throughout these studies, he spent time learning both in the classroom and in the exam room about the latest research and technology regarding eye care. Zach trained at the Wyoming VA Medical Clinic where he diagnosed and managed a variety of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and retinal vascular occlusions. Zach practices full-scope optometry and is trained in binocular vision disorders and contact lenses. Zach is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is a member of the Michigan Optometric Association. Dr. Thu To, O.D. Dr. Thu To is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. To had previously been practicing in the Minneapolis and Chicagoland area and has extensive knowledge in primary care and contact lenses. She is a past member of the American Optometric Association and the Contact Lens Society. Additionally, Dr. To is multilingual with proficiency in both Vietnamese and Spanish. In 2010, she moved to the East Lansing area with her husband when he joined Michigan State University as a Professor of Physics. She has two young sons, Gavin and Bryce, and enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling. You may also catch her at a Spartan football or hockey game. Dr. To specializes in contact lenses, co-management of cataract and Lasik surgery as well as managing dry eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetes. Dr. Roxanne Rottiers, O.D. Dr. Roxanne Rottiers graduated from Michigan College of Optometry in 2015. She has been on multiple mission trips through VOSH to help those in need of eye care. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Michigan Optometric Association, and the Scleral Lens Contact Lens Society. She is certified in fitting the Paragon CRT lens to slow down the progression of myopia in kids and young adults. She also has an interest in scleral lenses that help correct vision and reduce ocular discomfort in those with corneal irregularities and in the treatment of dry eye disease. Dr. Rottiers and her husband Kyle grew up in St. Johns and are now living in Grand Ledge with their 9-month-old son, Elliott, and their dogs, Aly & Diesel. Dr. Rottiers enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, playing at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and visiting Disneyworld. She specializes in specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease, co-management of Lasik and cataract surgery, and the management of diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Dr. Jennifer Eaton, O.D
Dr. Jennifer Eaton grew up in St. Johns, Michigan and is a proud graduate of St. She attended Ferris State University for her undergraduate education while serving as a member of the Ferris State Women’s Cross Country and Track teams. She then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Vision Science and a doctorate degree from the Michigan College of Optometry. Dr. Eaton continued her training at the Northern Indiana VA Healthcare System in Fort Wayne, Indiana as well as Henry Ford OptimEyes in West Bloomfield, MI and Pleasant Optics in Mount Pleasant, MI. Dr. Eaton’s training includes the treatment and management of ocular disease and fitting contact lenses with special interests in low vision and specialty contact lenses. She practices full-scope optometry. Dr. Eaton is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is a current member of the American Optometric Association and Michigan Optometric Association. Dr. Eaton enjoys running, baking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to northern Michigan. She also enjoys raising awareness for ocular health and patients with visual impairments. She is honored to work within such an established and growing optometric practice like Avery Eye Care. Most notably, Dr. Eaton is excited to return home to serve the community that helped to shape her many talents and passions.
