Speech therapy doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive to be effective.
This week, our entire session used dollar‑store leis, pom poms, and a spinning office chair. With those three simple items, we worked on requesting, commenting, and purposeful communication in ways that felt playful and motivating.
Kids don’t need elaborate setups to learn. They need:
• a playful activity
• a clear goal
• a supportive adult who knows how to scaffold the skill
Simple materials often lead to the most creative, joyful sessions.
If you ever feel pressure to buy “all the things,” take a breath. Kids can make meaningful progress with everyday items you already have at home.
Simple tools. Intentional practice. Real growth.
