Look closely at the roots of any tree or flower and marvel at how it was designed.

Tiny branches.
Hidden connections.
A whole underground network quietly helps the plant receive what it needs, stay steady, and keep growing.

There’s a reason we say kids “grow like weeds” or “shoot up like trees.”
They have a hidden system, too.

Their nervous system is constantly helping their brain + body communicate — carrying signals that affect how they rest, move, focus, feel, adapt, connect, and respond to the world around them.

That’s why small habits matter.

Water. Rest. Movement. Quiet moments. Kindness. Play. Care.

They may seem simple, but over time, those small rhythms support the roots underneath the growth — and help them bloom and thrive.

If your child’s growth has come with questions — about sleep, focus, regulation, posture, digestion, big emotions, or daily rhythms — Kids Month is a beautiful time to start the conversation and get some answers.

I’m often asked, “Why should kids have gentle, brain-based adjustments?”

My answer is straightforward: “Because kids are kids.”

Because their nervous systems need support through every stage of growth and development.

And because they’re active — climbing, falling, jumping, tumbling, playing sports, growing quickly, carrying backpacks, sitting in classrooms, and putting stress on their bodies all the time.

So often, when I sit with adults and walk through their history, the issues they’re dealing with now didn’t start in adulthood. We can trace them back to moments in childhood — falls, injuries, stress, or patterns that began while their bodies and brains were still growing.

That’s why I’m so passionate about caring for children early — helping support clear body + brain communication during the years their nervous systems are developing.

We don’t want to wait for pain to become the signal, or for years of stress, compensation, and dysregulation to have time to settle in.

Kids need chiropractic care because they are kids — growing, moving, adapting, developing, and becoming who they were created to be.

Kids Month is all about celebrating children — the way they grow, adapt, play, learn, connect, and keep becoming more themselves.

Some days, that growth looks big and brave.

Other days, it looks like a calmer transition, a better night of sleep, a little more confidence, a deeper breath, a stronger body, or one small healthy habit practiced again.

We love cheering our youngest patients on as they rise, grow, and feel more confident, connected, and capable. Because when a child’s nervous system is supported on the inside, they can rise above what feels hard on the outside.

That’s why we’re so passionate about caring for children and families in Berrien County and beyond. 💙

All June long, we’re celebrating with special kid-friendly workshops, activities, the Healthy Habit Challenge, and $100 off new patient exams for children and teens 18 and under.

This is not your typical workshop. ✨

On Tuesday night, we’re turning the tables and letting the kids help teach the grown-ups about chiropractic care — Fully Alive, game-show-style!

Expect energy, laughter, learning, and a whole lot of kid wisdom as we explore brains, spines, and all the amazing ways our bodies work.

Kids who attend can also earn stickers toward their Healthy Habit Challenge — and bringing a friend means even more stickers to collect!

So grab the kids and come on down Tuesday night. It’s going to be a fun one. 💡

Kids Month kicks off June 1st at Fully Alive!

All month long, our workshops, activities, and office fun will be centered on celebrating our youngest patients — kids and teens 18 and under — and how care helps them feel more calm, connected, strong, and fully alive.

And with Kids Month comes our Healthy Habit Challenge!

This isn’t about perfection or pressure.

It’s about helping kids choose one healthy habit they want to practice and strengthen — and then cheering them on as they track their progress, collect stickers, earn a prize, and are entered into our Big Summer Prize drawing!

We’ve pulled together categories of habit inspiration to help your kids find something simple, doable, and meaningful this month — whether that’s drinking more water, stretching their spine, spending time outside, practicing gratitude, reading before bed, showing kindness, trying a new food, or taking a few quiet minutes each day.

When you’re in the office, look for the Healthy Habit Tree at the front desk if your child wants help picking one.

And honestly? This might be one of those challenges where the kids start it… and the grown-ups decide to join in, too. Even if they don’t get stickers or a prize. 😉

Stop by the front desk before or after your next appointment to pick up your Habit Tracker, stickers, and the first Kids Month newsletter.

We can’t wait to kick off Kids Month with you on Monday!

May can feel like a constant sprint… that somehow keeps adding more laps.

End-of-school-year schedules. Graduations. Sports. Concerts. Field trips. Final projects. Holiday weekend prep. All the little things that somehow need to happen at the same time.

Call it May-hem. Call it Maycember. Either way, everyone’s nervous system starts to feel a little feral — kids and adults included.

If it seems like you’re running on snacks, calendar reminders, emotional support water bottles, and “just make it to summer” energy… trust us, your nervous system knows. And we’re right there with you.

Take a breath. Give yourself a little extra margin, a gold star, and some praise.

Summer is almost here — but summer “break” also comes with its own kind of transition: new routines, different schedules, more togetherness, less structure, and plenty of opportunities for everyone’s nervous system to feel the shift.

That’s why we’re talking about Preparing for the Summer | Managing Transitions with Grace at Fully Alive.

After you've enjoyed the holiday weekend, join us on Tuesday at 6:30PM for a practical conversation about supporting your family as you move into summer with more awareness, regulation, and ease.

The last five days have been such a mix of joy, pride, gratitude, and deep emotion.

From watching Gabby walk the track at Brown School, where she went to elementary school… to celebrating her at her family party… to sitting at her high school graduation… to visiting her college again, but this time realizing it will soon be her home…

My mama heart has been feeling all of it.

I held it together through most of the celebrations, but after graduation, it finally hit me. The tears came.

To all the moms with kids graduating this year — from elementary school, middle school, high school, college, or any season in between — you are not alone.

We raise them to be ready.

To grow.
To become.
To spread their wings.

And yet, when the moment comes, it can still feel so tender to let go of the season we’ve known for so long.

So let yourself feel it all.

Breathe.
Smile.
Take the pictures.
Hold the hugs a little longer.
Enjoy the moments.

And remember… we will be okay.

And they will thrive.

What a gift it is to love someone this deeply. 💙

Around here, care is our love language.

And it shows up in many ways:

• gentle adjustments
• brain-based nervous system support
• taking the time to explain what’s happening in your body
• helping you feel more empowered, not more overwhelmed
• encouragement when things feel hard
• education and practical tools you can actually use
• a space where people feel known, supported, + cared for

Comments and reviews like these mean everything to us — because this is exactly what we hope people feel here.

Not rushed, dismissed, or like just one more appointment on the calendar.

Cared for.

Because at Fully Alive, care is for anyone with a nervous system — but it has never been one-size-fits-all.
It’s personal, intentional, and rooted in helping you and your family live more fully alive.

Thank you for letting us love this community through the work we do. 💙
