Parkshore was a drop site for donating school supplies for the Mennonite Central Committee, which distributes school kits to families in need. Our residents were so generous with all the supplies donated, and a team of them helped put the supplies into bundle kits.

This week we celebrate National Assisted Living Week! The theme for this year, decided upon by the National Center for Assisted Living, is "Shining Through the Years" in honor of the lives and stories of residents, as well as the important role of caregivers and staff in helping them continue to shine.

We are proud to offer assisted living in our community, working together as an extended family for our residents, creating joyful, happy memories, and a safe and caring place to call home.

Our residents at Parkshore have formed a group and they are called, “Democracy Matters”. They actively prove that your voice matters at every stage of life—and voting is one of the most important ways to make that voice heard.

As a senior, you have a lifetime of experience, perspective, and knowledge that can help shape the future of your community. The decisions made by elected leaders can directly affect issues that matter to older adults, including Social Security, Medicare, healthcare, taxes, housing, transportation, and community services.

Voting is also about more than today. It is an opportunity to help create the kind of community and country you want to see for children, grandchildren, and future generations.

Whether you vote in person, by mail, or through early voting, plan and make your voice count. Your experience matters. Your opinions matter. And your vote matters. Democracy Matters!

Our resident spotlight this month is on Tom! Here are some things you may not have known about your neighbor...

🚣 Tom went to college at Harvard and rowed coxswain. After college he became a rowing coach at The Newman School in Cambridge for over 40 years.
🏫 He has a Master of Arts in International and Intercultural Communication fron Tufts University. During this time at school he was an occasional roadie for The Grateful Dead.
🎵 One thing he enjoys most at Parkshore is live music. His favorite song is anything by The Grateful Dead.
