Alot of patients coming in the office with severe allergies, sinus infections, pneumonia, after being on vacations or staying in hotels.

A little tip of what I do when I stay at a hotel when we stay a few days or even just overnight

PULL OUT AND CLEAN THE FILTERS

In every wall mounted air conditioner/heater there is a removable filter.

Here are some pictures of filters at a hotel we stayed in.

They are never cleaned, and are a common cause of severe allergy, sinus infections, and pneumonia while traveling because mold spores and bacteria are blown into the air you are breathing while in that hotel room.

Take the filters out clean them off in the shower or tub, clean them thoroughly with shampoo, rinse, and shake off, then spray with your perfume or cologne and reinstall.

Over the past 20 plus years of doing this, these pictures are about what the average filter looks like. We have stayed with numerous hotel chains.

I showed the cleaning person one time she stated for all the years she had worked there never new there was a filter in them to clean.
