SAM Southeast Monthly Gathering

SAM (Self-Advocates Minnesota) is a network of self-advocates, advisors, allies, friends, family, and professionals – led by self-advocates.

SAM promotes the human and civil rights of people with disabilities and helps and supports people with all disabilities to be active participants in the larger disability and human rights movements.

A New Q&A Series Helps Journalists Cover Disability

The Arc of the United States partnered with the National Press Club Journalism Institute on a three-part Q&A series to help journalists cover disability with more accuracy, accessibility, and respect. The series features practical guidance from Katy Neas on interviewing people with IDD, avoiding harmful framing, and choosing visuals that represent people with disabilities as diverse participants in everyday life.

We’re looking for vendors, artists, performers, food vendors, community organizations, crafters, and more for the Disability Pride Festival hosted by Arc’s Value Village Richfield and The Arc Minnesota!

The event takes place Sunday, August 9th at our Richfield Arc's Value Village store parking lot from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
