The Minnesota Indian Women’s Sexual Assault Coalition (MIWSAC) is a statewide tribal coalition with individual and program membership from across the state. The membership is comprised of American Indian and Alaska Native women and allies who bring with them extensive cultural knowledge and long histories of working in sexual assault and/or domestic violence programs. It is their effort and dedica

tion that propel us forward as we work to end sexual violence in our communities. MIWSAC strives to reclaim the traditional values that honor the sovereignty of our women, children, and Two Spirit relatives by incorporating culture and spirituality into every aspect of program operations. MIWSAC also provides national technical assistance and training to tribes and organizations across the country. 2026 TSASP Institute | MIWSAC welcomed grantees from Tribal Sexual Assault Services Programs across the country to Pismo Beach, CA. It was a packed day, beginning with a warm welcome from the Northern Chumash Tribe and gifts of medicines for attendees. Megan Bull Bear, owner of Lakota Made, shared her stories and healing products with us. Gray O.A.K. spoke on using tools to support data collection and storytelling. Contribute to Our Healing Directory!

MIWSAC is currently developing a wellness and healing directory for Tribal sexual assault advocates and service providers, titled:

A Living Basket of Care: Healing & Wellness Directory for Tribal Advocates and Service Providers

This directory is being created with the understanding that many of us who do this work are also carrying our own experiences, responsibilities, grief, healing journeys, and community care. Our hope is to build a resource that centers Tribal and BIPOC practitioners, collective care practices, culturally grounded healing approaches, trainings, and wellness supports that can continue serving advocates and programs long beyond grant timelines.

We would truly value your input and support in helping shape this resource.

To make participation easier, we created a short Google Form where you can share organizations, practitioners, trainings, healing practices, wellness resources, and ideas that may support advocates, survivors, and Tribal communities. All questions are optional, and participants may share as much or as little information as they feel comfortable providing.

We also want to emphasize that we are approaching this work with deep respect for Tribal protocols, privacy, and consent. Please do not share information for healers, medicine people, or practitioners unless you have their explicit consent or the information is already publicly available.
