BCI (Boone Center Inc.)

BCI (Boone Center Inc.) BCI's mission is to inspire, develop, and support people with disabilities through a continuum of innovative employment opportunities.

Vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) is a packaging process that forms a bag from a roll of film, fills it with product, and seals it closed—all in one efficient system. It’s ideal for samples, single-serve products, dry pet kibble and treats, dry snacks, and more.

We offer VFFS at our Lincoln County plant, which is SQF-compliant and FDA-registered for food packaging and repackaging.

When companies partner with BCI, they’re not only receiving dependable, quality packaging services — they’re also supporting meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

Looking for a reliable VFFS partner? We can do it for you. Learn more about our capabilities and mission at www.boonecenter.com.

A sweet new job and a supportive community partner—now that's a recipe for success!

Congratulations to Robert, who was hired on the spot during his interview at SugarBot Creamery, Home of Little O's Old Time Soda Fountain ice cream parlor on Main Street in St. Charles. As someone whose goal in life is to make others happy, Robert couldn't have found a more fitting role than serving up smiles!

And the support didn't stop there. SugarBot's owner, Jackie, went above and beyond to help secure funding from the Barbara Parker Charitable Trust for a bicycle, providing Robert with a way to get to and from work.

We're so proud of Robert and grateful for partners like SugarBot, who see potential, create opportunity, and empower people with disabilities to shine.

If you're visiting Main Street, stop by for a treat—you just might see Robert in action!

Summer Work Experience check-in!

Kimberly is thriving at The Boulevard Senior Living in St. Charles. In fact, she's doing so well that Ann, her Job Coach, hardly needs to be there at all!

The staff has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, and they're helping Kimberly explore her dream career. Knowing that she hopes to become a pastry chef someday, Director Kelly is working to arrange time for Kimberly to learn from the employee who creates the community's desserts.

This is exactly what our Summer Work Experience Program is all about—giving young adults the opportunity to build skills, gain confidence, and discover pathways to future careers.

What a transformation—and we're not just talking about the haircut!

Nearly one year ago, Liam S. secured employment at CJ's Restaurant through BCI's Job Development program. Today, he's thriving on the job and continues to receive support from his Job Coach, Sarah, as he builds a career he's proud of.

Recently, Liam celebrated another milestone by donating his long hair to Wigs for Kids, helping children experiencing hair loss feel more confident and supported.

When Liam shared his before-and-after photos, he was proud of this accomplishment—and we can see why. His commitment to both personal growth and helping others is truly inspiring.
Way to go, Liam!

Thank you to long-time BCI volunteer Ruth Williams for organizing a recent tour of our St. Peters facility with her friends, including several of her fellow members of the Alpha Nu chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA).

One guest had visited BCI more than 13 years ago, making it especially meaningful to hear how much our organization has grown. Other guests recently volunteered at our gala. We loved sharing our mission, programs, and impact—and connecting with community members who are passionate about inclusion and opportunity.

Thank you, ladies, for spending time with us!

Our Summer Work Experience Program is officially underway!

This summer, 39 students in their final years of high school are gaining paid work experience across St. Charles County (25 students), Madison County, Illinois (5 students), and Springfield, Missouri (9 students). For many, it's their first job—and a chance to build confidence, learn workplace skills, and explore their future.

Today we're highlighting Liam, who is working with his job coach, Rebecca, at the O'Fallon YMCA. Liam is doing a great job keeping the facility looking its best, learning new tasks, and bringing a positive attitude to every shift.

We're excited to see what these six weeks hold for Liam and all of our students!

Ian K. rocks! 🤘 A 2025 BCI vocational training grad, he was voted April’s "Rockstar of the Month" by his teammates at True Manufacturing!

Each month, Ian's department nominates and votes for someone who stands out, making this recognition especially meaningful because it came directly from his peers.

Ian is also becoming a legend at the Hot Wheels® races during the monthly team luncheons — winning back-to-back championships the last two months in a row! These races bring plenty of fun and friendly banter to the workplace, and Ian is right in the middle of it all!
