Our healthcare organization includes the 53-bed licensed acute care hospital, which received Critical Access Hospital designation (CAH) in 2005, and six local physician practices. We employ over 400+ individuals with a medical team comprised of 66 active, courtesy and consulting physicians and nurse practitioners. We are honored to partner with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines in presenting a Member Impact Fund grant to Friends Foundation of Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital!

This grant will be utilized for the maintenance and enhancement of the hospital's oncology garden. This garden aims to enrich the treatment experience for oncology patients, providing a sense of tranquility and beauty through nature. It may be a modest space, but it has a significant positive impact on those undergoing treatment each day. Thank you to FHLB for providing us with the opportunity to further improve our community.

Meet Dr. Justin Roberts! He is a certified otolaryngologist or ear, nose and throat professional for short. Our Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists provide consultation, diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose and throat, head and neck disorders. Many of these disorders may affect hearing, speech and balance. Our ENTs work with adult and pediatric patients. They also work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists to provide comprehensive care for our patients. Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) is celebrating the return of a cherished space thanks to a transformative gift from the SGCMH Friends Foundation. The Oncology Healing Garden has been reborn as a vibrant healing courtyard for patients, families, and staff.
For years, the garden served as a quiet refuge—until time and limited resources left it needing some attention. The SGCMH Friends Foundation and Oncology staff stepped forward with the funds and time that made a full renovation possible while preserving some plants, donated items, and memorabilia. The Healing Garden was thoughtfully redesigned to provide an accessible outdoor space where patients can step out of their treatment rooms to experience fresh air, sunshine, and the calming views of nature while receiving care.
