Today, we’re shining a little extra light on one of the amazing people who helps make Breeze what it is — Aja, one of our incredible CNAs! ✨

Aja has a heart for people that you can see in everything she does. She brings so much care, compassion, patience, and genuine kindness to every patient she serves. She doesn’t just show up to provide care — she takes the time to truly be present with her patients.

She talks with them. She listens to them. She gets to know them. And somehow, she has a beautiful way of making each person feel like they aren’t simply a patient on her schedule, but someone who genuinely matters to her. ❤️

One of the things we love most about Aja is the way she builds relationships. She has a gift for making patients feel comfortable, cared for, and even a little bit like she’s family. And in hospice, that kind of presence means so much.

Aja, we hope you know how much you are appreciated. The compassion you bring into someone’s home, the time you give so freely, and the little things you do that may seem ordinary to you can mean everything to a patient and their family.

We are so thankful you are part of the Breeze family! 🌿💙

During Assisted Living Appreciation Week, Breeze Hospice of Missouri & Palliative Care is proud to recognize the amazing assisted living communities and dedicated staff who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of their residents every day.

We are incredibly thankful for the relationships and connections we’ve built with our assisted living partners. It is a privilege to work alongside your teams, providing compassionate hospice and palliative care while supporting residents, families, and staff throughout their journey.

We value every opportunity to collaborate, educate, share resources, and provide support; because when we work together, we can help ensure residents receive the comfort, dignity, and quality care they deserve.

We’ve been a little quiet here on Facebook these past several days, and there’s a reason for that. Our hearts have been heavy, and honestly, finding the words to share this publicly has been difficult.

Our Breeze Hospice family has been grieving the loss of our beloved chaplain, Robb. We had the privilege of laying him to rest last Friday, and while so much has already been said and felt in the days since we lost him, we wanted to take a moment to honor him here as well.

Robb was truly one of a kind. He was loud, funny, passionate, and never afraid to speak up for the people and things he believed in. He advocated fiercely for his patients, his families, and his team. He believed in us, believed in what we were building, and was genuinely excited to see our team grow and succeed.

Most of all, Robb was passionate about serving God. His faith wasn’t just something he talked about—it was woven into the way he loved people, encouraged others, prayed, served, and showed up when someone needed him.

For many of us, Robb was so much more than a chaplain or a coworker. He was family. He had a way of making you laugh, telling you what you needed to hear, encouraging you when you were struggling, and reminding you that the work we do truly matters.

To me personally, Robb was like a dad. He encouraged me through so many things, believed in me, and always seemed to know when I needed a little extra encouragement. That is something I will carry with me always.

Breeze will never be the same without him.

As we continue to navigate this loss, we ask that you please keep Robb’s wife and family in your prayers, as well as our Breeze Hospice family. There are a lot of hurting hearts right now, and we are all learning how to move forward while carrying the loss of someone who made such an impact on our lives.

We will miss his laugh.
We will miss his stories.
We will miss his passion.
We will miss his faith.
And we will miss simply having him here.

But we will carry what he gave us forward—and we will do our best to make him proud.

🇺🇸 September 11 | We Remember

Today, Breeze Hospice of Missouri & Palliative Care pauses to remember and honor the lives forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.

We remember the innocent lives lost, the families who experienced unimaginable grief, and the first responders, firefighters, law enforcement officers, military members, healthcare workers, and everyday heroes who stepped forward to help.

More than two decades later, we continue to carry their stories, their sacrifices, and their memories with us. Today is a reminder of the importance of compassion, courage, service, and caring for one another.

From all of us at Breeze Hospice of Missouri & Palliative Care, we remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

When Memory Changes, Support Matters 💜

Alzheimer’s disease doesn’t just affect the person living with the disease; it impacts the entire family. As needs change, families may find themselves navigating medical decisions, changing behaviors, care options, and the emotional challenges that come with the journey.

That’s why having the right team of professionals working together matters. Physicians, care managers, senior living professionals, caregivers, and hospice and palliative care teams can each provide valuable guidance and support along the way.

At Breeze Hospice of Missouri & Palliative Care, our staff is trained to care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. We understand that memory loss can bring changes in communication, behaviors, abilities, and daily needs. Our team approaches every patient with patience, compassion, understanding, and dignity.

This World Alzheimer’s Month, we want families to know that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. We’re here to walk alongside you and your loved one, provide compassionate care, answer your questions, and offer support through every stage of the journey.

“But You Seemed Fine Yesterday…”

On the start of Chronic Pain Awareness Month, we ask that you remember that one of the hardest parts of living with a chronic or invisible illness is the unpredictability. Someone may have a day when they feel well enough to work, socialize, run errands, or enjoy time with family…and the next day, they may be exhausted, uncomfortable, or unable to do the things they normally would.

A good day doesn’t mean someone isn’t struggling. And needing extra support today doesn’t erase what they were able to do yesterday.

We may not always see the pain, fatigue, limitations, or emotional toll that comes with chronic illness. That’s why compassion, patience, and understanding matter. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind the moments when they look “fine.”

And you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Our Palliative Care team is here to walk beside you while you continue treatment for your chronic or serious illness. Palliative care can provide an extra layer of support focused on comfort, symptom management, quality of life, and helping you and your family navigate the challenges that can come with ongoing illness. And when the time comes, we’ll be here to help you understand your options and walk you through the next steps.

Please know that you can continue seeking treatment while receiving palliative care. We meet you where you are and walk beside you from there. 💙

🕊️ A QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER LOVED SOMEONE THROUGH HOSPICE…

If you could go back and tell yourself ONE thing before your loved one entered hospice, what would you say?

❤️ “Don’t be afraid.”

🏡 “Bring them home.”

⏰ “Spend more time with them.”

🗣️ “Ask the questions you’re afraid to ask.”

🤍 “Let hospice help you.”

🌿 “It’s okay to choose comfort.”

🙏 “You’re going to get through this.”

Or maybe something completely different…

Finish this sentence:

👉 “Before hospice, I wish I had known _________.”

There is so much fear and uncertainty surrounding hospice. Sometimes families wait because they think choosing hospice means they are giving up.

But hospice can be about something very different:

More comfort.
More meaningful moments.
More support.
More dignity.
More time focused on the person—not just the illness.
