Maternal mental health care shouldn’t depend on where you live.

One in five women experience a mental health condition during or after pregnancy, yet many live in “maternal mental health deserts” without access to care.

In Missouri, the Maternal Health Access Project (MHAP) is using telehealth services, supported by HRSA’s Screening & Treatment for Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder (MMHSUD) program, to help close this gap. Through virtual training and real-time consultation, more than 700 providers are better equipped to recognize concerns and connect patients to care.

Telehealth is expanding access and supporting healthier outcomes—wherever patients are.
