As changes to laws and funding that impact disability services continue to be discussed, advocacy has never been more important. Together, we can help ensure every person has access to the supports, opportunities, and respect they deserve.

Mental health matters every day, and it starts with how we show up for each other.

Last week, the Board of Commissioners officially recognized May as Mental Health Awareness Month and there are simple, meaningful ways you can make a difference right where you are.

- Start by checking in with someone. Ask, "How have you been, really? and take a moment to listen.
- Take care of yourself, too. Step outside, get some rest, and build small habits that help you recharge.
- Pay attention to how we talk about mental health. The more we speak openly and without judgment, the more we help reduce stigma.

If someone you know is struggling, spend time with them, help them find support, and remind them they're not alone.
