Meet Melissa!⁠
⁠
Melissa is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Melissa specializes in working with autistic individuals and those with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, and emotional and behavioral challenges. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and has extensive experience providing mental health services in schools, community settings, and group private practice.

⁠Melissa believes that every person has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. She works collaboratively with clients to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where healing and meaningful change can occur.

Meet Kody!⁠
⁠
Kody received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in counseling from Corban University and is currently working on his Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling also from Corban.

Kody views each person as unique with their own lived experiences and believes in forming therapeutic relationships without preconceptions and judgments. He has experience working with people in crisis and trauma and approaches counseling with a trauma-informed perspective. Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” he seeks to understand, “What happened to you?” Kody believes everyone has a story that’s worth hearing and is honored to walk alongside his clients as they share their story. Kody works with a variety of clients from children through adults.

Meet Patty!
⁠
Patty received her master’s in counseling degree from University of The Cumberlands. She is currently in school for her PhD in Counseling Supervision and Education at Saybrook University. Her goal for you in counseling is for you to feel supported, safe, and inspired to learn, grow and become your best self. Her areas of specialty include substance use, trauma, parenting, anxiety, and depression.

Meet Janda!⁠
⁠
Janda graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychology from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 2007 and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Corban University in 2013. A year after completing her Bachelor’s degree, she worked at the Children’s Farm Home in Corvallis, Oregon, as a Children and Adolescent Treatment Specialist (CATS) with children and adolescents who struggled with mental, emotional, and behavioral problems.

In addition, while in the Master’s program at Corban University, she completed a full year of internship at the Pastoral Counseling Center of Corvallis, Oregon, working with a variety of ages ranging from children to elderly adults. She opened Empowering Choices Counseling & Consultation’s Philomath office in September 2019.

⁠Janda’s counseling philosophy uses a person-centered, attachment, and developmental approach to therapy. She believes that human beings are designed to have attachments with one another and that good attachments foster well-being.
