We are reaching out today to ask for your help. One of our employees, Stacy, needs help identifying a blood stem cell donor match for her mom, Teri. Her mom, who is also a grandma, has spent years with a high platelet count and is now in need of a blood stem cell transplant. Identifying a donor match would provide a cure for her or other searching patients with life-threatening blood disorders like leukemia, lymphoma or sickle cell. The possibility of a cure provides hope for Teri, Stacy and their family, who want to continue sharing time doing things they love, like baking.

❣️Teri and other individuals like her need our help!

🔵Most people (75%) needing a blood stem cell transplant don’t have a fully matched donor in their family.

🔵They depend on NMDP℠ to find an unrelated donor (ages 18-35) for a cure.

🔵Next week on Wednesday, July 22, we are partnering with NMDP℠ to host a registry recruitment event from 11 am to 2 pm at our Salem, NH Hospital In-Service Room.

This drive is about more than finding a match for Stacy's mom, Teri. It's about giving hope to the more than 12,000 people currently searching for their life-saving match. One person who registers could be the answer to someone's prayers. Details about the drive are shared in the image.

❣️Please consider attending the drive and registering as a donor. A simple cheek swab will determine if you are a match. If you can't attend, sharing this could help reach the one person who can make all the difference. Individuals aged 18-35 only are able to donate. Everyone can help spread the word.

We appreciated the opportunity to connect with clinical and professional colleagues, caregivers, and survivors at the Brain Injury Association of New Hampshire's 42nd Annual Brain Injury & Stroke Conference. From sharing information about our services at our information table to presenting and attending sessions, our team created lasting connections on this inspiring day.

Dr. Tower, Medical Director of Northeast Rehab at The Elliot spoke on Spasticity Management while Liz Barbin, Speech Language Pathologist at Pease and Joanne Morello, Program Coordinator for Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network spoke about pain assessment after stroke. Their insight and expertise continue to demonstrate Northeast Rehab's position as a leading rehabilitation facility.

Last week we were honored to sponsor our fourth dinner for The Movement Family where we also handed out donations from our Network-wide 👐"Helping Hands for Summer Comfort" 👐 donation drive. Our involvement with The Movement Family began in December of 2024 when we first hosted one of their weekly community dinners for the greater Lawrence, MA homeless community. Since then, our relationship with them has become a constant part of our community outreach efforts. Thank you to everyone from across our Network who volunteered and contributed much needed summer survival items such as cool clothing, sunblock and more. A special thank you to the Sweetheart Inn for once again preparing a magnificent meal AND to our courier for transporting all of the donations from our drive to the dinner. The TMF Dinner is more than a meal; it unites people from all different life situations. It provides hope, it spreads compassion, and it is a true testament to the power of community. This evening is a powerful reminder of the impact we are making together and a testament to the fact that community can come together anywhere to make a difference! We care together...because we are stronger together.

This LNA Week, June 11-17, we are proud to recognize our team of incredible LNAs who make such a meaningful difference at our hospitals every single day. 👏🫶

Nursing Assistants are often described as “frontline heroes,” and that could not be more fitting. LNAs are often the first to offer comfort, the first to notice when something is wrong, and the first to provide reassurance during difficult moments. Every day, LNAs step into challenging situations with professionalism and compassion, ensuring that those in their care feel safe, valued, and respected.

‼️This year’s LNA Week theme, “We’re Unbelievable,” perfectly reflects the extraordinary work LNAs do each and every day. Caregiving is not always easy. It takes emotional strength, teamwork, sacrifice, and perseverance. Yet through every shift, every challenge, and every success, our LNAs show up with compassion, dedication, resilience and heart for our patients, families and teams. Whether offering a comforting hand, sharing a smile, helping someone regain confidence, or simply being present during important moments, their dedication never goes unnoticed. ‼️

🥰💞To all of our LNAs, we are deeply grateful for everything you do, not only during LNA Week, but every day of the year. Thank you for your hard work, your kindness, your resilience, and your heart. Your work goes far beyond daily tasks and routines — you build relationships, preserve dignity, provide companionship, and create moments of kindness that leave lasting impacts.

🫶 Hands are an important part of our connection to others, self-care, work and play. It's National Hand Therapy Week and we are proud to celebrate Northeast Rehab's skilled hand therapy professionals who are restoring function, reducing pain, and improving lives—one hand at a time. 🫶

Their work is a combination of art and science, compassion and commitment. Our hand therapists help to bridge the gap from the medical management of a person’s injury or condition to their successful recovery, allowing the person to function in their daily lives.

Their partnership and planning with each patient provides more than just healing, it makes it possible for patients to reconnect with their lives in a very tangible and emotional way.

Thank you again to all of our hand therapists for the care you provide.
Your knowledge and experience provide the needed expertise required to manage the challenging recovery of complex hand and upper extremity injuries. You are changing lives, one hand at a time. 🫶🤝

Did you know...Northeast Rehab has 13 hand therapists who collectively provide care at seven of our outpatient clinics? Chelmsford, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, North Andover and Tewksbury, MA plus Salem, NH. Learn more in the comments.

👏👏👏 We are proud to recognize our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for their life-changing contributions during National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! ‼️Did you know: Communication disorders are among the most common conditions in children and adults, affecting tens of millions of people in the United States alone. Left untreated, they can impact a person’s academic, social, and career success—as well as their overall quality of life. At Northeast Rehab our SLPs offer services from birth to end of life in areas such as speech, language, feeding, swallowing, voice, cognition, and more. ‼️

Think of some of life’s meaningful moments… sharing in early communication milestones, eating a favorite food/trying your first foods, participating in a family routine or favorite activity, or resuming a favorite class/job. Our Speech-Language Pathologists help patients in each of these moments!

Across Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network, we have 33 Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) with more than 320 years of combined experience. They provide care for adults at our inpatient hospitals and outpatient clinics and also pediatric patients at 7 of our outpatient clinics.

🫶Our Speech Language Pathologists are communication experts who truly connect with patients, their families, and care partners. Because of the specialized care they provide, our patients are able to connect with loved ones and the world around them in ways that may have once felt out of reach. Our Speech-Language Pathologists also help facilitate support groups, participate in focus projects, advocate for their patients, and volunteer in the community. Their reach is widespread, and their expertise has a lasting impact. Thank you to each and every one of you for your contributions and commitment to make a difference. We appreciate all that you do! 🫶

We have kicked off Stroke Awareness month in one of the best ways possible. Over the last three days Northeast Rehab Hospital Network has hosted Neurorecovery Unlimited’s May 2026 CSRS training certification at our Salem, NH Butler Street location (May 1 - 3). CSRS is the only nationally recognized, premiere stroke certification for OTs and PTs and we are honored to be one of only 12 locations chosen to host a 2026 training session. 65 dedicated PTs and OTs, 19 of whom are Northeast Rehab employees, embraced this opportunity to work with world-recognized instructors, J.J. Mowder, Steve Page, and Angie Reimer, who ran this 4-day, intensive hands-on neurorehabilitation training.

At the completion of this highly-sought training (three days in person, 1 day virtual) participants take a test to earn their CSRS certification and the distinction of including the CSRS (Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist) designation alongside their other professional credentials.

Pictured here are all 19 Northeast Rehab employees who participated, along with our Stroke Core Team leaders Keith and Joanne who were instrumental in making this day possible. And of course, thank you to the entire Neurorecovery Unlimited - CSRS team, we thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with you. We wish everyone luck as they await their results.
