The birth photographer also happened to have a little one… so I got to “help out” by holding her baby while attending someone in labor last week. Dreamy.

Come say hi tomorrow at the McMinnville Community Center. We’re sharing a booth with our new office mate Kelly from Kelly Menne IBCLC at the free baby shower event. 4-7pm.

I met the sweet family behind Birds Eye Farm 7 years ago, when they welcomed their baby with Fig. I love that I still get to see them regularly, and I’m so blessed to also receive a box of their farm-fresh goodies every week.

This one came today… and the chèvre is NEXT LEVEL! 🤍

Hello fig fam!
I am Candyce, the new student here at Fig Midwifery. I’m mostly a PNW local (just a few short stops in CA, WY and east Africa along the way) and I’m so honored to be learning alongside these amazing midwives here at Fig!
I delivered my own two children via midwives and the experience was profound for me. I am grateful that I get to be the one supporting expectant parents, cheering them on and helping to navigate one of life’s most sacred experiences.
I’m also an artist, so if you want your baby bump painted, I’m happy to do so!

Spring in Oregon means the nettles are back 🌿
This little patch has become one of my favorite places to harvest each year.
During pregnancy, many over-the-counter allergy medications are considered safe, but sometimes it’s nice to have gentle plant support too. Nettles have long been loved for seasonal allergy support, and they’re one of our favorite spring allies during pregnancy.
They’re also the very first ingredient in our NORA Tea 💕

Found this photo from my early midwifery days in Austin and instantly wondered how old this baby is now — probably 25! There’s something really special about looking back on all the families and little lives I’ve had the privilege of caring for over the years. 🤍

After many meaningful years of working together, we are transitioning out of our formal partnership. We will continue caring for clients as Fig partners through the end of the year.

While we will no longer be business partners, we remain deeply supportive of one another and will continue to collaborate in birth work moving forward.

We are so grateful for what we’ve built together and for the families we’ve had the honor to serve. That foundation will continue, just in a new structure. Meredith will continue as Fig Midwifery, and Crystal has begun a new practice, Elowen Midwifery.

If Crystal has been part of your care, we would love your support as she grows this next chapter. Please consider leaving a Google review, following along on Instagram, or sharing photos you’re comfortable with her using for marketing. Thank you for your support!

We had 8 Fig babies in December (well, the last one was born in the early morning hours of Jan 1st), which is a lot for us! I was excited to make these holiday garlands from dried citrus and spices, but since we were so busy I didn’t get to it until January 3rd. Better late than never, I’m going to enjoy these in my window all of January ~Meredith
