Robert B. Wilson, 87, of Little York, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.

Robert was born on September 9, 1938, in Washington County, Little York, Indiana, to Gordon and Leo (Collins) Wilson. He grew up in the community he loved and carried his strong work ethic and devotion to family throughout his life.

A 1957 graduate of Salem High School, Robert went on to attend Purdue University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in 1960. On May 6, 1960, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, he married the love of his life, Norma Jean (Misamore) Wilson. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work until her passing on February 19, 2021.

Robert was a lifelong farmer, proudly tending 1,500 acres of to***co, corn, and soybeans. Farming was more than an occupation — it was his passion and heritage. He also worked as an engineer at Delco Remy in Anderson, Indiana, for 12 years and later served as a supervisor at American Can Company. In addition, he faithfully supported Norma in operating Z & L furniture store, always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed.

A member of Mount Hebron Church, Robert’s faith was an important part of his life. He found happiness in the simple pleasures — playing card games, mowing his lawn to perfection, squirrel and mushroom hunting, trapping, and searching for arrowheads on the Wilson farm. He especially loved his John Deere tractors and took great pride in caring for his land.

Above all, Robert cherished his family. He delighted in hosting parties, holiday gatherings, and family dinners, creating lasting memories for those he loved. He was immensely proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nothing brought him greater happiness than seeing them grow and succeed.

Robert is survived by his two daughters, Sherry Wilson Gilbert of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Lesia (Jerry Hamilton) Wilson of Scottsburg, Indiana; three grandchildren, Amber Creech of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Zachary (Tracy) Riley of Scottsburg, Indiana, and Adam Hamilton of Scottsburg, Indiana; eight great-grandchildren, Alli, Zoey, Adalyn, Riley, Kloey, Cain, Titan, and Lennox Kallembach, all of Scottsburg, Indiana; and one brother, Ronald E. (Juanita) Wilson of Scottsburg, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Jean Wilson; his son, Mark Wilson; his brother, Joseph P. “J.P.” (Karen) Wilson; and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Lawrence Sweany on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Zoah Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Mount Hebron Church, c/o Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 138 Westavia Blvd., Scottsburg, Indiana 47170.
