A personal note from his parents: Jimmy, you were our first son, our heart, and one of our greatest prides. We will forever hold onto the memories we shared and the man you became-strong, kind, and always willing to help others.

You have always been independent, even from the age of 6. On your first day of school, you insisted on going in by yourself and announced that your name was James (but you will always be Jimmy in our hearts). You will always be deeply loved and never forgotten.

Jimmy will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication, and the quiet way he showed up for others. He made a lasting impact on many lives and will be deeply missed.

He lived in Ohio until graduating from high school when he entered the United States Marine Corp. He served as a Marine from July 15, 1969 - July 14, 1972. After leaving the military Jim moved to Oregon where he met and married his wife of 53 years, Paula (Nelson) Rawlins. After leaving the police force in July of 2003 Jim started a private polygraph business, until illness forced his retirement.

Jim had many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed family and friends, travel, his Harley Davidson motorcycle, bow hunting, a good card game, puzzles, sitting around the campfire and fishing. He watched any and all football games and was an avid fan of his home state team, the Ohio State University Buckeyes!

Paul Richard Delury

Paul Richard Delury passed away on May 28, 2026, after a courageous battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was 68 years old.

Paul was born on August 19, 1957, to James Leonard Delury and Helen June Delury. He grew up in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in 1975. Following high school, he pursued his passion for broadcasting and earned an Associate's Degree in Radio Broadcasting from Portland Community College.

Paul built a successful and respected career in radio advertising sales that spanned more than four decades. He began his career with KBMC in Eugene and KORE in Springfield before finding his professional home at KWIL/KHPE in Albany, where he dedicated 33 years serving local businesses and building lasting relationships throughout the community. Known for his warm personality, integrity, and genuine care for others, Paul was well respected by colleagues, clients, and friends alike. In 2021, he began a new chapter as an Account Executive with 50 Plus Magazine, where he continued to enjoy serving clients and building meaningful connections until his passing.

On October 15, 1988, Paul married the love of his life, Bettie Woollard. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, laughter, and adventure. Paul was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather who treasured every opportunity to spend time with those he loved.

Paul is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bettie Delury; son, Nathan Delury and wife Erika of Post Falls, Idaho; daughter, Kayla Kumley and husband David of Dallas, Oregon; and his beloved grandsons, Henry, Dimitri, and Noah. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Tate, along with many extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leonard and Helen June Delury.

Outside of work, Paul found joy in camping adventures with his family, listening to music, and sharing his technical talents in service to his church. For many years, he faithfully operated the sound board, helping create meaningful worship experiences for others. His love of radio, audio production, and music remained a lifelong passion.

Paul's quick wit and sense of humor brought laughter to everyone around him. Family members will forever remember the funny terminology and expressions he picked up from radio programs over the years, as well as the impromptu songs he would make up on the spot that somehow always managed to rhyme. He had a gift for finding humor in everyday life and was known for his creative approaches to stretching a family budget, often jokingly referred to as his specialty in "creative financing."

Family was Paul's greatest joy. He cherished vacations and adventures with those he loved, creating lasting memories during trips to Disneyland, Maui, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Vallarta. He was an enthusiastic supporter of his children and took immense pride in watching Nathan and Kayla perform in middle school and high school jazz band competitions and concerts. Few things made him happier than seeing them develop their musical talents.

Music remained an important part of Paul's life until the very end. During his final year, he especially enjoyed listening to Leonid & Friends, a talented Russian tribute band known for performing remarkably accurate covers of classic rock groups such as Chicago, Journey, and other popular bands from the 1970s and 1980s. Their music brought Paul great enjoyment, comfort, and many hours of listening pleasure.

In 2026, Paul faced an aggressive form of ALS with remarkable courage, determination, and grace. Despite the challenges of the disease, he continued to inspire those around him through his resilience, faith, humor, and enduring love for his family.

Paul will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, steady presence, unwavering faith, and dedication to the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, the laughter he inspired, and the countless friendships he nurtured throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Salem Heights Church, 375 Madrona Avenue South, Salem, Oregon 97302. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Paul's life and share memories of the man who meant so much to so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Paul's honor to ALS Northwest or The ALS Association to support individuals and families affected by ALS and to advance research toward finding a cure.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, caregivers, medical professionals, and members of the community whose prayers, support, and acts of kindness brought comfort throughout Paul's journey.

At the tender age of 12, Victor embarked on a journey to the United States, driven by the desire to support his family. Despite the challenges he faced, including leaving school to work as a Bracero, his determination and work ethic shone brightly. Victor found employment with Dole Foods in Ventura, California, and later transitioned to Pic Sweet and United Foods, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to providing for his loved ones.

In 1971, Victor met the love of his life, Guadalupe (Lupe), at a fair in Ventura County, California. The couple married on December 5, 1971, in Oxnard, California, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Their marriage was blessed with children: Raquel, Irene, Victor Jr., and two adopted children Alex, and JC.

In the 1970s and early 1980s, he traveled across the United States as a member of the United Farm Workers Union, advocating for the rights of fellow workers. Victor had the privilege to serve as the president of the Willamette Soccer League in the mid-90s to early 2000s.

In 1992, Victor and Lupe opened their hearts and home to foster children, becoming a pillar of support and love for over 100 children throughout the years. This selfless act of kindness exemplified the caring nature that Victor was known for, a man who would give you the shirt off his back and a beer, just not his last one.

Victor was a man of many passions, including his love for building Lowriders and installing hydraulics on classic Chevys. A passion he passed to his son and grandchildren. His loyalty to his favorite sports teams was unquestioned. His favorite teams were the Raiders, Lakers, Dodgers, and Cruz Azul Fútbol Club. This faithfulness was outmatched only by his dedication to his family and community.

A stern yet loving man, Victor had a special way of motivating those around him by pushing their buttons and smiling from the inside when they achieved their goals. He was a dedicated husband, loving father, provider, mentor, and coach who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. His generosity extended to offering jobs, meals, and guidance.

Victor is survived by his devoted wife, Lupe; his children Raquel and Michael Huggins, Irene and Lester Manuma, Victor Jr. and Elizabeth Becerra, Alex Becerra, and JC Becerra; his granddaughter Amaya Rae Huggins; and grandsons Victor III and Gabriel Becerra. He is preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Sydney Marrisa Manuma.

In our memories and hearts, Victor Monge Becerra's spirit will forever remain, a testament to a life of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication. May he rest in peace, knowing the profound impact he had on the lives of many.

Ruth J Finical

It is with heavy hearts yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ruth Finical. Born on May 4, 1925, in the modest town of Beach Grove, Arkansas, Ruth departed this world peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, after 100 remarkable years.

Ruth was the cherished daughter of Burley B. Pickett and Mary Lou Bohanning. She grew up in a large and loving family, the seventh of eleven children, and she carried their values of kindness and resilience throughout her life. Although she left school after the 11th grade, Ruth later completed her GED in Coos Bay, Oregon, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to personal growth and learning.

In the heart of World War II, on January 8, 1944, Ruth married Elmer in Wagoner, Oklahoma. As a war bride, she embodied the strength and determination of her generation until Elmer's passing. Their union was blessed with two children, Wayne and Sue, who were the pride and joy of Ruth's life.

Ruth's career was one of compassion and service. Most of her working years were spent as a dedicated caregiver in a retirement home and for private clients, where her gentle spirit and generous heart touched many lives. After moving to Salem, Oregon, she extended her nurturing nature by becoming a foster grandparent, providing care and guidance to countless young souls.

A devout member of the Assembly of God Church, Ruth's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy and solace in her relationship with Jesus, which she shared with her family and community. Her quiet, modest demeanor belied a fun sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her.

An ardent creator, Ruth, found great pleasure in sewing and hand quilting. Her artistry was not only a hobby but a legacy, as she crafted countless quilts and handmade clothes for her family. Each stitch was imbued with her love, creating tangible memories for generations.

Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her loving son Wayne and his wife Sandy Finical, her cherished daughter Sue and her husband Jeff Harrison, four adoring grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Bill and his wife Jean Pickett, who shares in the legacy of their family's enduring bonds as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth is reunited with her husband Elmer, her grandson Bill Fox, her parents, along with her siblings and many friends who predeceased her.

Though our hearts are heavy with her absence, we are comforted by the indelible mark she left on our lives and the assurance that her gentle soul is at peace. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever inspire those who were privileged to know her.
