Today, our team had the opportunity to attend a community meeting hosted by State Senator Deb Patterson and learn more about the important work she is doing to strengthen health care access across Oregon.

We were grateful for the chance to share the perspective of the 578 Oregon Health Plan families currently served by our clinic in Marion County, and to highlight that thousands of children statewide are facing similar challenges accessing medically necessary care due to cuts by one of their CCOs. Some of our families have already been waiting years to access basic pediatric healthcare in salem an issue that isnt felt in other Oregon counties.

This week, we spoke with one of our families that will be losing access to 5 of her medical providers due to recent changes in our community — a reminder that continuity of care is not just a policy issue, but a real-life concern for children and families.

We remain committed to working collaboratively with the Oregon Health Authority and community partners to support solutions that ensure timely, reliable access to care for Oregon’s children with disabilities.

Thank you, Senator Patterson, for creating space for these conversations and for your continued leadership in health care advocacy.

We would like to sincerely thank State Senator Deb Patterson for her continued leadership and policy work to improve healthcare access for families across Marion County and throughout Oregon.

This week, our Operations Manager, Randy, spent several days at the Oregon Capitol advocating for our patients and working to find a path forward to ensure that 230 pediatric patients do not lose access to medically necessary care following the termination of our contract with PacificSource Community Solutions, without an alternative provider arrangement in place.

We have raised these concerns directly with PacificSource leadership, including directly to their CEO, and have been informed that there is currently no solution being offered to these affected families.

Despite these challenges, our commitment to our patients and community remains unwavering. We will continue to advocate on behalf of every child and family we serve, because access to healthcare should never depend on a family’s income. As providers who work every day with children who are still learning to find their voices, we will continue to stand up, speak out, and advocate for them while teaching them to advocate for themselves.

Thank you to our families, partners, and community leaders who continue to support this work.

Oregon Health Authority

In less than three weeks, the Legislature will reconvene for the 2026 Legislative Session. This week, I am back at the Capitol participating in committee hearings focused on the priorities that matter most to Oregonians. I look forward to hearing from experts, community leaders, and other policymakers as we work together to identify practical solutions.

Topics on the agenda for this week include:
• Screenings for cervical cancer
• Increasing the number of wheelchair accessable homes
• Renewable energy investments
• Expanding access to mental health services

Looking forward to these conversations and thoughtful work in the days ahead.
