Here’s an amazing “Success Story!”
Mary came to us NPO, (nothing by mouth) from the hospital. Our Speech Language Pathologist worked on improving strength and coordination of swallow progression from NPO back to her prior diet. They also worked on use of alternative communication including use of speaking valve for improved expression. Respiratory was able to train her to take care of newly placed trach and Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy addressed basic strengthening and balance with focus on ADL’s and being able to care for her fur babies. Mary was active and very motivated with all disciplines with good carry over! We’re all so happy to see Mary return home!
