If you’re new here, I’m so so glad you found my little space! I wanted to reintroduce myself and share a bit of the heart behind Knit and Known.
My name is Abby Christesen, and I’m a doula located here in Salem, Missouri. I love everything related to pregnancy and birth. From the moment you find out you’re pregnant to holding your baby and navigating those first moments of breastfeeding, I would truly love to support you through it all.
The name for my business, Knit and Known, is so special to me. It comes straight from Psalm 139:13–14:
“For it was you who created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Every baby is knit together so beautifully and intentionally by our Creator. And not only that — every life is fully *known*. Known by God before ever taking a breath. Every detail, every feature, every part of their story… is already shaped and seen by a loving Father.
These truths are what shape the way I view birth. Not just as a medical event, but as something sacred, intentional, and deeply personal.
Whether I’m supporting you through pregnancy, labor, or postpartum, my heart is to help you feel seen, supported, and reminded that your story matters and that you have a Father who loves you more than you will ever know.
