Congratulations to Evelin Gonzalez, Resident Services Coordinator at The Springs at Lancaster Village, on receiving the Above and Beyond Award at the Oregon Health Care Association awards celebration! 🎉

Evelin joined The Springs Living in 2009 as a prep cook. Over the years, she has served in caregiving, housekeeping, maintenance, and medication support before assuming her current position. Through every role, she has made time to learn residents’ names, listen to their stories, and build relationships that help people feel valued.

When her team needs support, Evelin steps in wherever she can. Her patience, warmth, and steady presence make a difference for residents, families, and fellow team members.

Please join us in celebrating Evelin and this well-deserved recognition!

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

As we mark the tragic events of September 11, 2001, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who emerged, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

May we continue to carry forward the spirit of compassion, courage, and unity shown in the days that followed.

We will never forget.

Who says car washes are just for cars?

At The Springs at Carman Oaks, a summer afternoon turned into something a little unexpected - a resident car wash!

With rainbow sprinklers, plenty of splashes and even more laughter, residents made their way through the “wash” for a refreshing way to beat the summer heat.

It’s a good reminder that fun doesn’t have an age limit, and sometimes the best moments are the ones that get a little silly (and a little soaked).

CEO Fee Stubblefield viewed the progress at The Springs at Issaquah Highlands from a whole new perspective this week - the top of the crane!

The view stretches well beyond the construction site to a growing region changing quickly. With that growth comes an important question: How do we create more choices and better ways to support people as they age?

After 30 years of learning what works, The Springs Living is excited to bring that experience to the Seattle market and help meet the growing needs of older adults in the region.

The cranes and concrete may be the most visible signs of progress today, but building a community starts with people. Behind the scenes, we’re already beginning to build the team that will lead, serve and create a place where people thrive.

Great buildings matter. Great views certainly don’t hurt. But people are what bring it all to life.

We look forward to what’s ahead in Issaquah.

Surrounded by residents, family, friends, and community partners, Portland’s Royal Rosarians recently planted a beautiful ‘Love Song’ rose at The Springs at Sherwood. The ceremony was a tribute to Founder & CEO Fee Stubblefield's father, Fancho, who calls the community home, and also Fee's beloved Aunt Eileen, a former resident of the community. Kim (Stubblefield) Takla, Fee’s sister and Fancho’s daughter, serves as ‘Royal Gardener’ with the Royal Rosarians and was among the group presiding over the heartfelt event.
The celebration also recognized residents and longtime Rosarians Florence and Helen, who were among the first women to join the treasured Portland civic organization that provides official greeters and goodwill ambassadors for the City of Portland.
Thank you to community members, including the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, who joined us for this memorable occasion. It was a joyful day celebrating family and the many connections that help our community bloom and flourish.

As you may be aware, we recently lost our dear friend and Vice President of Design Chris Shelby. Our leadership team invites you to join us on August 29 at noon for a celebration of his life as he would have wanted—with a tailgate lunch at his beloved Autzen Stadium in Eugene.

Chris was instrumental over our 30-year history, working alongside Fee and the leadership team in creating award-winning communities and sharing a deep commitment to the residents and families we serve. Beyond his incredible work, Chris embodied our core value of kindness every single day. He made people feel accepted, safe, and cared for. He helped shape not only the communities we build, but the culture we share.

We hope you will help us honor this incredible designer, colleague, and friend in the way he deserves.

Please RSVP: https://evite.me/C7f3DZV9bW and wear your Ducks gear (or green and yellow).

It's hot out there! Summer heat can be a lot more serious for the older adults in our lives. As we age, our bodies don't cool down as efficiently as they used to, and heat illness can sneak up on you fast.

A headache, nausea, cramps, or confusion can signal the onset of dangerous heat illness. Move to a cool space, hydrate, and seek help if symptoms don't improve right away.

Knowing the signs is good, but a few small preventative habits and a little extra attention can make all the difference in keeping you cool, hydrated, and healthy for the rest of the summer.

The Springs Living's purpose is to help residents live life to its fullest, and a recent example was made possible for a resident at The Springs at Lancaster Village in Salem, Oregon, by one of our partners.
AgeRight provides residents in assisted living with compassionate onsite medical services and support, but it also offers a "New Chapter" program which, much like Make a Wish, is designed to help seniors fulfill meaningful dreams and experiences. When Jerry, a resident, shared his desire to go fishing, the team set to work.
A few weeks ago, Jerry, his brothers and his care team through AgeRight headed to The Dalles for an unforgettable fishing getaway. The team thoughtfully planned the entire trip, including overnight accommodations, so Jerry could fully enjoy every moment of the experience. For a whole day, Jerry cast his line, spent quality time with family, laughed with friends, and soaked in the beauty of the outdoors.
What a beautiful reminder that joy, adventure, and dreams have no age limit. We are deeply grateful to AgeRight and everyone involved in making Jerry’s “New Chapter” fishing adventure come true.

Ernst & Young has named Fee Stubblefield Entrepreneur Of The Year® Mountain West winner, recognizing three decades of leadership that have helped redefine how senior living is designed, experienced and understood.

It started with a promise to his grandmother. That promise became the foundation for a different approach to senior living rooted in belonging, purpose and human connection.

This recognition honors the impact of Fee's leadership. By investing in people, empowering caregivers, creating award-winning environments intentionally designed to foster connection and well-being, and building and operating with a long-term philosophy, he demonstrated that exceptional resident experiences, meaningful careers for employees and strong business performance are interconnected. In doing so, he raised expectations for what older adults, families and employees should expect from senior living.

Throughout that journey, Fee challenged the profession to rethink how success is measured, not simply by growth, but by quality, belonging, workforce stability and the experiences of the people senior living exists to serve. He views this recognition as something bigger than one company or one leader. He hopes it will elevate the senior living profession, broaden the conversation around aging and caregiving, demonstrate what is possible when organizations invest in people, quality and long term stewardship, and inspire the next generation of leaders to enter the profession.

As Fee shared after accepting the award:

"Every person that's a part of The Springs Living is Entrepreneur of the Year because we're changing the industry."

Thirty years later, the promise remains the same.

Please join us in celebrating The Springs at Sherwood memory care for receiving a deficiency free rating.

This rating comes from random visits from state officials as part of their oversight of senior living communities, ensuring adherence to standards of care, safety, and overall quality of life. A deficiency free rating means 100% compliance - essentially, a perfect score from the state.

A special thank you to the Sherwood memory care team, going above and beyond to provide the highest quality care and meeting the unique needs of memory care residents. Receiving this recognition is an incredible accomplishment, and we're all proud of your hard work.

Congratulations!

Every year, The Springs recognizes employees whose innovation and forward thinking have made a positive impact on their community with a Spark Award. This year we had the pleasure of handing out five Spark Awards, to four individuals and one team for their brilliant work in changing senior living for the better!

Lauren DeWitt from The Springs at Butte was recognized for putting their expertise in finance and utilities to work helping the Butte community tackle rising utility costs, saving tens of thousands of dollars and stabilizing their budget.

Margo Garibay-Lavin from The Springs at Lake Oswego was recognized for their many systems for organizing staff and resources, which successfully led the Lake Oswego Memory Care team through a remarkable deficiency-free evaluation.

We recognized Maggie Hilliard, attending virtually from from The Springs at Bozeman, a resident and full time Life Enrichment team member who has brought several creative ideas to life in the community—demonstrating that residents can be leaders, contributors, and culture builders.

Sosha Pybas from The Springs at Greer Gardens was recognized for their willingness to get hands-on and fix problems themselves, tackling several issues that had long been declared “unfixable”, and getting a list of dozens of regulatory tasks and work orders down to zero.

The final Spark Award for 2026 went to The Spring Ahead Team, composed of Juli Nibbler, Nancy Ojua, Lucy Santiago-Ortega (pictured separately), and Julie Stubblefield! This team set out to help employees stabilize their lives and tackle the professional, personal, financial issues they might be dealing with. The Spring Ahead team prides itself on finding innovative ways that we can support our employees, because we know that the best caregivers are those who are cared for too.

Congratulations to all of our Spark Award winners; your sparks of innovation are a guiding light for the rest of us!

Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible servers across our 23 communities who go above and beyond every single day.

Your kindness, professionalism, and dedication bring so much more than meals to the table - you bring warmth, dignity, and connection to the lives of the residents. Whether remembering a favorite drink, offering a cheerful smile, or simply taking the time to listen, your care and attention to providing quality service make all the difference.

Thank you for the respect you show to every resident and for contributing to making our communities feel like home. We see you, appreciate you, and are so grateful for everything you do.

On National Nurses Day, we recognize the individuals who show up each day with skill, compassion, and a deep commitment to others.

That spirit is reflected in the legacy of Linda Orr, a nurse at The Springs at Whitefish for 13 years. Linda embodied what it means to do One Thing each day, always advocating for residents to be treated with dignity and respect.

In her rememberance and honor, we established the Linda Orr Nursing Scholarship to support those continuing their journey in nursing and carrying forward that same level of care and dedication. Applications for employees will open in June.

Today, we celebrate all nurses - and the lasting impact they make in the lives of others.

Please join us in celebrating The Springs at Veranda Park Assisted Living, The Springs at Sunnyside Assisted Living, and The Springs at Lancaster Village Kitchen for earning deficiency-free survey results - the highest quality rating a community can receive.

State surveys are unannounced evaluations conducted by regulatory officials to ensure communities are meeting established standards for care, safety, and overall quality of life. These reviews look at everything from resident experience and staff practices to dining, cleanliness, and daily operations.

A deficiency-free survey means that across all areas reviewed, no violations were found, reflecting full compliance with state regulations and a strong commitment to quality.

This is a meaningful accomplishment and a reflection of the consistency, attention to detail, and care these teams bring each day.

A special thank you to the teams leading these areas - you’ve worked incredibly hard and this recognition is well deserved.

Congratulations!

Across our communities, giving back to the earth has taken many forms - planting trees, creating green spaces, and caring for the places we call home.

It reflects something bigger: the belief that small, intentional actions can shape the world around us.

This Earth Day, we’re turning the question outward, what are your plans to give back? 🌎

It all started with a promise.

Thirty years ago, our founder made a commitment to his grandmother - one that would become the foundation for something much bigger. That promise came to life in our very first community in Salem, Oregon: a place designed to feel warm, welcoming, and rooted in purpose and belonging.

From the beginning, it was never just about creating a place to live. It was about how people experience aging, and the role we can play in supporting that journey with care, intention, and respect.

What began in Salem has grown into 23 communities across Oregon, Washington, and Montana, touching thousands of lives along the way. And while we’ve grown, our purpose remains the same: to be a steady presence for those we serve.

To create meaningful moments.
To support people in living life to its fullest.

As we mark 30 years, we also look ahead. With the move of our home office to Beaverton, we’re strengthening how we support our communities, so we can continue showing up in the ways that matter most.

Thank you for being part of The Springs Living and for trusting us to walk alongside you.
