What if something as familiar as a deck of cards could help someone living with dementia stay engaged, connected and involved?

Our latest blog looks at the role purposeful play can have in memory care, including how familiar games, puzzles and other activities can encourage communication, problem-solving and participation without creating unnecessary frustration.

It also explores why games can be especially valuable for families, giving everyone an easy way to spend time together when conversation alone may feel difficult.

Residents explored the history of WWI aviation with Nathaniel MacDonald, Education Director of the Aviation Museum of New Hampshire! ✈️

Nathaniel brought historic artifacts and authentic aircraft pieces for residents to examine while sharing more about the craftsmanship, technology and ingenuity behind early flight.

He even stayed for happy hour, where residents requested a paper airplane demonstration to go along with our signature “Paper Plane” bourbon cocktail. Some residents had their airplanes autographed by Nathaniel as a keepsake!

Thank you, Nathaniel, for such an engaging afternoon of aviation history and hands-on learning.

Roses, sunshine, and a taste of the Seacoast made for a picture-perfect outing! 🌹☀️

Residents spent the day exploring the breathtaking Fuller Gardens in North Hampton, surrounded by vibrant summer blooms, unique succulents, and beautifully maintained grounds. Our visit was made even more memorable by a garden volunteer who shared fascinating history about the property and Alvan T. Fuller, the 50th Governor of Massachusetts, who commissioned the formal seaside gardens at his summer estate in 1927.

We rounded out our coastal adventure with a delicious lunch at Petey's Summertime Seafood & Bar in Rye—the perfect ending to a beautiful day on the Seacoast! 🦞🌊
