Many of the victims behind this statistic are children.

Behind every number is a real person, a real trauma, and a life forever changed. And many survivors never report at all because of fear, shame, manipulation, or not being believed.

We must continue fighting for stronger protections for children, better support for survivors, prevention education, and accountability for offenders.

Breaking the silence about sexual violence matters. Protecting children matters. 💙

The DA chose not to press charges. Now what?

You still have options:

- Hire a private attorney to assist the DA in prosecution

-Reach out to your local legislators for help

-- Note: You can have BOTH a civil case and a criminal case against a perp at the same time and survivors have until they turn 31 to file a civil case against their abuser

Justice shouldn't end when criminal charges don't move forward. 💚

Be the person that takes the time to see and hear others!

Sometimes the most important step is listening. Taking time to listen to the concerns of a young person in your life can help them feel safe sharing what they’re experiencing.

Bridgehouse: Recovery with Support

Kansas deserves a body safety education bill that teaches kids, supports teachers, and gives families real tools to protect children. This graphic lays out what that would look like: annual teacher training, age-appropriate instruction for K-12 students, research-based curriculum, and local flexibility for schools.

We’re asking voters to pay attention now so they can ask their candidates and elected officials the important question: will they support this?

Protecting Kansas children should be a shared priority, and education is one of the strongest tools we have.
