NAMI Central Kansas NAMI Central Kansas wants to bring awareness of mental illness and walk alongside those who live wit

Mental illness affects 1 out of every 4 people in one way or another, if they're not living with it they know someone who does. Mental illness has no boundaries and is not selective based on social status, gender, age, or nationality. NAMI Central Kansas wants to build relationships with and support those who live with it. By doing so we hope to raise awareness and alleviate the stigma that sometimes follows.

Discover Blood On The Line by Art Brennan, today on Amazon.com

It's more than a book — it’s a path to healing, remembrance, and legacy.

Written by a Vietnam combat veteran, this powerful and deeply personal workbook is designed to help veterans, first responders, and families preserve their stories, process their experiences, and begin the journey toward healing.

Through carefully crafted questionnaires and prompts, this book invites you to document your life—from military service and daily experiences to personal memories, emotions, and untold stories. It goes beyond history, offering a meaningful way to reflect, connect, and heal.

Inside, you’ll find:
• Veteran-focused life documentation prompts
• Guided questions about service, combat, and daily life
• Sections for law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, teachers, and more
• Insight into PTSD and trauma across professions
• Resources for mental health support and healing

This book serves as:
• A personal journal
• A historical record
• A therapeutic tool
• A legacy document for future generations

Whether you are a veteran, a first responder, a family member, or someone seeking understanding—this book provides a safe space to reflect, remember, and heal.

Your story matters.
Your experience matters.

This is your first step toward healing.

Sometimes the most meaningful change starts with simply being in the room with others who understand.

The NAMI Kansas Peer Leadership Council brings together people with lived experience from across the state to share ideas, support one another, and help shape what mental health support looks like in our communities. If you’ve ever wanted to connect, listen, or quietly make a difference, this might be a space worth exploring.
