Did you know Rise no longer has an intern? We’re so excited to announce that Isabelle has graduated with her MSW and is now working full-time on our Rise team.

We feel incredibly lucky to have her. Isabelle specializes in working with young children through young adults. She has experience supporting children navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, and school-related challenges. Isabelle takes a collaborative, family-centered approach and often incorporates parenting sessions to help support the child within the context of their broader family system.

Congratulations Isabelle!

September is Su***de Prevention Month. 🤍

Su***de can be difficult to talk about, and myths surrounding su***de can make those conversations even harder.

This month, we’re making space to challenge some common misconceptions and share what we know to be true: talking about su***de does not “put the idea in someone’s head,” asking for support does not make someone a burden, and you don’t need to have the perfect words to show someone that you care.

Sometimes prevention starts with simply being willing to ask, listen, and stay connected.

If you’re worried about someone, take their words seriously. Ask directly about su***de. Listen without judgment. Help connect them with support.

And if you’re struggling yourself, please know this: you are not a burden for needing help. You deserve support.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

This Su***de Prevention Month, let’s keep talking. 💛

Did you know that as the first day of school approaches, Ann Arbor teachers are still working without a contract?

As a mental health clinic specializing in children, families, and parenting, we see firsthand the profound impact educators have on the well-being of children, families, and our broader community. Teachers do so much more than teach. They provide stability, connection, encouragement, and support to our children every day.

Today and always, we stand with Ann Arbor educators. 🍎

On our page, you’ll find a post linking to a variety of teacher wish lists from across the Ann Arbor school district. We have personally committed to purchasing at least one item from each list as a small way of showing our appreciation and support.

If you have the means, we invite you to join us. Even a small purchase can make a meaningful difference for educators and students. And if purchasing isn’t possible right now, sharing this post widely is another powerful way to help.

Let’s show our teachers that our community sees them, values them, and stands behind them. ❤️

Ann Arbor Public School teachers are starting their year off without a contract. Let’s help support our local teachers by clearing their lists!! We’ve gathered a few lists from deserving teachers. We’ll be buying at least one thing off everyone’s list - even one item off of one list could be so helpful! Share widely and let us know if there are new lists to be added 🤍

Boundaries are something we talk about often in therapy, but they can be easy to confuse with threats.

Healthy boundaries aren’t about controlling another person’s behavior. They’re about identifying what you are comfortable with, communicating your limits, and deciding what you will do when those limits are crossed.

This can be especially important in parenting and relationships, where setting a boundary can sometimes feel uncomfortable or even unfamiliar.

A boundary can be firm without being punitive. It can communicate care while still communicating a limit. And learning to set healthy boundaries is a skill that can take practice.

If setting boundaries feels difficult, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a space to explore where those difficulties come from and practice communicating your needs in ways that support healthier relationships. 🤍

✨ It’s kinda chic to be in a new mom’s village.

It’s kinda chic to check in.
It’s kinda chic to bring the meal.
It’s kinda chic to hold the baby so she can shower.
It’s kinda chic to ask what she needs.
It’s kinda chic to respect her boundaries.
It’s kinda chic to celebrate her, too.
It’s kinda chic to show up without expecting anything in return.

New motherhood was never meant to be done alone. Being part of a new mom’s village means showing up, respecting her needs, and reminding her that she doesn’t have to do it all herself.

Be kinda chic. Be the village. 🤍

Many of us have been carrying a sense of heaviness lately. It’s easy to feel discouraged by the state of the world or wonder whether one person’s actions can truly make a difference. Those feelings are real, and they can leave us feeling powerless.

Tomorrow offers an opportunity to reclaim a small piece of that power.

If you’re eligible to vote in Michigan’s primary election, we encourage you to make a plan to cast your ballot. Voting is one of the ways we can use our voices to advocate for the communities we care about, stand by our values, and participate in shaping the future we hope to see. While no single vote changes everything, each one is a reminder that our voices matter and that meaningful change begins with people who choose to show up.

At Rise Wellness Collaborative, we believe that healing and hope are rooted in taking values-driven action, even when the path forward feels uncertain. Whatever your perspective, we encourage you to participate, let your voice be heard, and remember that small actions, taken together, have the power to create meaningful change.
