Weight loss has been a very popular topic in the news, in the community and in our office!

We absolutely manage weight loss and can prescribe these medications for you! However, to help us help you, here are some things you can know and/or do prior to coming in for in appointment to discuss your options.

1. Mounjaro and Ozempic are diabetic medications, yes your insurance may cover them, but only if you are a diabetic, they will not cover them for weight loss alone.
2. Find out if your insurance will cover weight loss medications— this is something you will likely need to call and find out. There are great cash pay options as well, however if you are hoping to get it through your insurance, please do this research!
3. Look into your options. We have attached a chart below to show different types of medications available, it’s always good to be well informed.

Being healthy doesn’t mean you shouldn’t see your healthcare provider at least once a year! Here is a good visual for the things you should be consider. Keep in mind individuals may require different screenings! The best way to know what you are due for is to have an annual appointment each year to make sure you and your healthcare provider have a chance to discuss recommendations for you individually! We like to have your annual scheduled and on the books, if you are not sure if you have one scheduled, or if you need to schedule, give us a call!

We try to have same day acute visits available everyday for this reason.

Please keep in mind for these visits, you could see any provider in the office. Your primary provider may not have availability same day, however getting your care in our office can help your provider have a say in your treatment!
