Just a little update incase you didn't read your email, it went to spam or maybe your not in the system.
I wanted to share a personal update with you so that you have plenty of time to plan ahead for your massage appointments over the next several months.
As of right now, I am tentatively scheduled for a **major surgery on October 16, 2026**. Because of the preparation needed beforehand, **my last working day will be October 14th, and I will not be taking appointments on October 15th.**
My expected recovery time is approximately **eight weeks**. If everything goes smoothly, I am hopeful that I will be able to begin returning to massage around Christmas or shortly after. Depending on how my body heals and what my doctors recommend, it is also possible that my return may be closer to the beginning of the new year.
And after everything my body and I have been through over the last few years, I have learned one very important lesson: **healing does not care about my calendar.** 😂 So, I plan to give myself the time I need to recover properly and come back ready to do what I love.
What about your appointments?
First, **if you are currently scheduled with me anytime between now and October 14th, you do not need to worry about your appointments.** Those appointments are staying exactly where they are unless something changes medically on my end.
If you have appointments scheduled **after October 14th**, please don't panic or start canceling everything. Over the next month or so, I will be reaching out to you individually, or we will talk when you come in for your upcoming appointment, about what makes the most sense.
That may mean moving or rescheduling your appointment, seeing Julio while I'm recovering, working with another therapist, or simply figuring out a plan that works best for you. We will take it one appointment at a time.
Massage will still be available while I'm out
**Julio will continue to be available at Breathe Out Massage**, and you are absolutely welcome to schedule with him while I am recovering. He offers a wonderful range of therapeutic work, so you can continue taking care of your body even while my hands are temporarily on vacation. 😉
If Julio's availability doesn't work for you, or if you are more comfortable seeing a female therapist, please reach out to me. I am happy to recommend other trusted massage therapists in the area, so you aren't left scrambling to find someone.
I am also currently looking for a **female massage therapist to join Breathe Out Massage part-time. ** My hope is not only to have additional support while I recover, but to find the right person who can continue with us afterward.
This feels like the next piece of Breathe Out Massage growing into something bigger than just my own two hands. Having therapists with different skill sets, pressure styles, specialties, personalities, and availability gives you more options and allows us to care for more people without losing the personal, therapeutic approach that Breathe Out has always been built around.
You may see me before I'm back to massage...
Here's another little silver lining.
While massage requires a lot physically from my body, some of the other work I offer does not.
**Around the five-week point of my recovery, if everything is healing as expected and I am cleared to do so, I am hoping to begin offering one-on-one and group sound journeys again, along with one-on-one breathwork journeys. **
So, while I may not quite be ready to climb back into the massage room and work on your physical body, you may be able to come experience something completely different with me first.
Maybe instead of working on the muscles, we spend some time working with the breath, nervous system, sound, stillness, and everything underneath all that tension we normally try to massage away. 🤍
I'll share more about those offerings as I get into recovery and have a better idea of what my body is ready for.
Want to support Breathe Out while I'm recovering?
One of the biggest ways you can continue supporting me and everything we're building while I'm away from massage is by checking out **Breathe Out Collective**.
There are yoga classes, sound experiences, breathwork, workshops, events, and other holistic wellness offerings happening within the Collective. Every class you attend, event you share, friend you bring, and post you interact with helps support this bigger vision we're creating.
Breathe Out has grown beyond just massage, and I would absolutely love for you to explore some of the other ways you can care for yourself while I'm recovering.
And lastly, I really just want to say **thank you. **
Many of you have been with me through some pretty wild chapters over the last few years. You've worked around my recovery periods, schedule changes, limited availability, and all of life's unexpected plot twists. You've continued to show up, refer people, check on me, support this little business, and trust me with your care.
**I don't take that loyalty lightly. **
I am incredibly grateful for every person who has continued to walk through the doors of Breathe Out Massage and allowed me to be part of their wellness journey.
There are changes ahead, but I truly believe they're opening the door for something really good. More availability. More talented hands. More ways to support you. More opportunities through the Collective.
And hopefully, a healed and fully recovered Sara coming back ready for the next chapter. 🤍
I will continue to keep everyone updated as we get closer to October and as the surgery date is officially confirmed.
For now, **if you're scheduled through October 14th, you're good. ** If you're scheduled after that, we'll figure it out together over the coming weeks.
Thank you for continuing to breathe, grow, heal, and evolve right alongside me.
With so much gratitude,
**Sara B**
