While I can’t support many of RFK Jrs decisions, this is one campaign I do. However, we don’t need to rely more on AI! We need better education in institutions and providers who are willing and actually reimbursed for their time to listen to the symptoms, the timeline, gather all the records from from all the specialists, the ER visits, and urgent care visits to look for those minor details or one lab result or missed lab test that gives the cue to check for all regional tick-borne illnesses, and not just Lyme. I spend hours looking at records that can never bill for because we would be flagged for fraud but it’s worth it to see someone get their life back or at least improved as some have waited too long for a diagnosis and we can’t guarantee full recovery. I also see more neurological symptoms with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Anaplasmosis than Lyme but this is from experience. We were never even taught about these diseases in a classroom. Not alone alpha gal. Personal interaction discussed she had three ER visits after the weekends for progressively worsening allergic reactions without a diagnosis. I ask about three questions about food and suspect she had alpha gal. One blood test later, she has a diagnosis and plan.
If you have been diagnosed with tick-borne illnesses and was not a usual presentation, please share your story with CureID app or website.
