We are incredibly grateful to Congressman Mike Simpson for advancing $2 million in Community Project Funding for Steele Memorial Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Facility Modernization for Rural Access and Safety Project.

This proposed project would help expand and modernize rehabilitation services right here in Salmon, creating a more private, safe, accessible, and functional healing environment for patients across our rural region.

It would also support a larger vision for the future of healthcare in our community. By moving rehabilitation services into a more appropriate and modern space, Steele Memorial would be able to open up much-needed room within the hospital for other departments to expand and better meet growing healthcare demands.

For our community, this is about more than adding space. It is about improving access to care, protecting patient privacy, supporting safer patient flow, and helping ensure Steele Memorial can continue growing alongside the needs of Lemhi County and the surrounding area.

Thank you, Congressman Simpson, for recognizing the importance of investing in rural healthcare and supporting the future of local care in our community.
