Back-to-school season brings excitement, but for families facing financial challenges, the cost of shoes and school supplies can add stress.

Thanks to Congregation Kol Ami and dedicated JFS volunteers, children from families visiting the Alex & Sally Lebwohl Food Pantry will receive new shoes and grade-specific school supply kits, each assembled with care and a message of encouragement.

From January through June, our food pantry provided food to more than 4,500 children experiencing food insecurity. Thank you to everyone helping our community start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and cared for!

We loved seeing JFS’ Arts & Aging Coordinator, Emily Christensen, on FOX 13’s The Place yesterday, talking about the Kaleidoscope Festival!
Emily, who also serves as Director of the Utah Creative Aging Coalition, was joined by Cambia Health Foundation, and one of our favorite Arts & Aging artists and volunteers, Sonnie, to talk about how creativity supports social connection, emotional well-being, cognitive engagement, and even physical health.

Get Your Creative On: The Kaleidoscope Festival is a month-long and state-wide event for older adults throughout Utah. It kicks off on August 22 and and is free for those 55+. Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah's philanthropic and charitable arm, Cambia Health Solutions, is proud to support this important cause. 🎨👩‍🎨

Helping Others Has No Age Limit!

We’re so grateful for our amazing volunteers of all ages who give their time to support our community! This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming this wonderful mother-daughter duo to the food pantry before the start of another school year.

What a meaningful way to spend time together while making a difference for others.

Thank you to them—and to all of our incredible JFS volunteers—for the time, energy, and heart you bring to our work. We couldn’t do it without you!

We're excited to be partnering with Pantry to Porch to help expand access to nutritious food for our community. Through free home delivery from local food pantries, this partnership supports older adults, people with disabilities, immigrants and refugees, low-income households, and others facing barriers to accessing food.

Together, we're reaching more neighbors experiencing food insecurity and making it easier to get the support they need.
